We went there for the Gelato and I have been recommended to visit this place by a friend. Certainly a good decision, it has this family feeling inside the shop, very cosy and warm service (ladies behind the gelato bar) I ordered a Tiramisu and WOW…definitely I am going back there again for Tiramisu. I have tasted the Panna Cotta... More

70 for a simple lunch. Only reason why we came was to say we ate at little italy. Every one rages about the gelato but even it has its downfalls. If your after good itilan food go away.

You go here because it's an absolute Sydney institution. It's been a cafe for over forty years and little has changed about the place. You'll have to queue to place your order and you'll have to be ready to say your order by the time you reach the counter. No humming and haahhing. It's a little along the lines of... More

We only ever come here for the Gelato which is the best gelato i've tasted outside of Italy. It's actual real gelato and delicious, not those flavoured ones you get in other places. The pistachio gelato is my favourite. The decor is a bit old, but doesn't matter too much for having gelato.

We've been coming here for years and never thought to do a review. Recently dropped by with a work colleague, en route to collect his car and thought we'd swing by for a coffee and a cannoli. Now all you half double decaffeinated half-caf, with a twist of lemon or soybean juice or skim milk drinkers can STOP RIGHT HERE.... More

I have never written a restaurant review for trip advisor, but felt compelled to write one after the treatment we received at this place. The food was only average and expensive for what we got, but the real issue was the treatment from the staff. Not only were they rude but they were very unhelpful and totally disinterested in serving... More

No fuss, blast from the past. Bar Italia has been around for decades, still has the same furniture and decor. We only have coffee and Gelato. For food there are plenty of other restaurants nearby or in Haberfield.

Once a great place, this has been reduced to just another outdated has been in Norton st. The coffee and gelato are still great however the refusal to move with the times on coffee (skinny, decaf, etc) and the same old decor will see it decade as another fossil.

This restaurant has been in Leichhardt for a good many years. Years ago it really was the place to eat. It was very good value and family friendly with a good outdoor area. However, I find that these days, the food is not quite so good and the service can be extremely slow. The outdoor area is often crowded and... More

The area used to have its Italian vibes..unfortunetly not anymore! And with all the great Italian places popping up like mushrooms in Sydney; bar Italia is going backward. Balmain nearby offers better choices..and if you are keen to make it as far as Mosman you will not regret it.
