I went here based upon recommendations from some friends. I was pleasantly surprised at how great this place was, it's on that actually lives up to the hype. They have just about any type of Scotch you have ever heard of. Every time that I go I tell the bartender my price range and have them surprise me with different... More

I went to The Baxter at the suggestion of a bartender I met in Bondi. As he had suggested, it fills up quickly so there is a line to get in as early as 5:30. Once inside, it has the vibe of an old time speakeasy, and was packed. It's not a big place and, being underground, it was a... More

Great vibe and atmosphere. Tremendous malt selection, outstanding beers on tap. Non threatening environment, a real grown up place. Highly recommended. You have to be assertive with the bartenders.

This is my first review and I want to share with everyone my bad experience at Baxter Inn Whisky Bar in Sydney. This place was highly recommended by my friends and we went there for a drink last Friday night. The bartenders were yes, cool and eye pleasing as they were busy making drinks behind the long bar. BUT, I... More

Great hidden bar down a alley way. Good vibe and atmosphere. Friendly staff. Who know all about the drinks on hand. Very knowledgable. They have great customer service whether it be topping up ur water when it's empty to seeing if you want another drink at the bar. Lovely to see. Definitely a must see when in Sydney.

Okay this is where it is - at 156 Clarence St there is a bike shop with a lane way on the left. Go up the laneway, turn right and you'll be in a courtyard full of dumpsters and junk. The bar is down some stairs on this right hand side. Look for a velvet rope. You would never know... More

The Baxter Inn is Sydney's worst kept secret - a Melbourne style unmarked underground whiskey bar. It has a really cool speakeasy vibe and a great list of single malts. The only downside are the crowds of pretentious hipsters that frequent the place. Go early on a weeknight to avoid frustration.

A great secret underground bar in the heart of the CBD. Biggest range of whisky I have ever seen. Drinks were also fairly priced. We turned up at 6.30pm on a Thursday night and had to queue for 15 mins so expect a wait as the bar only holds 130 people.

Into SIngle Malts? You have to go. The trick is finding this great find. You may need to ask a local for directions. It's down a little alleyway in the basement. I go every time I'm in Sydney. And if your friends drink something else, don't worry. They have it.

This is where people go for a REAL drink made by passionate staff who care about the end result. Great atmosphere, decor..etc but you get yourself here for the beverages! Specialty and rare finds, top shelf galore! best cocktails in Sydney and lots of bourbon and ages whiskeys too. Fancy Gins and vodka's probably from a barrel lost deep in... More
