Was meeting up with 6 friends who I hadn't seen in years, and one of them suggested this place, as they'd eaten here and thought it was very good. They booked for 7 people, and a few hours before our meal one couple had to cancel, so my friend left a message on their voice mail saying that there'd only... More

We have been to the restaurant twice in the last 6 months and enjoyed the food very much on both occasions. Food was consistently good. Service was good & quick. The tempura quail with soba noodles was outstanding and very innovative. Peking duck with pancakes, pork san choi bao, steamed scallops & ginger, pulled pork on steamed buns were delicious.... More

China Lane has a modern fit out and offers modern somewhat Australianised Chinese food so you don't get the authenticity of Chinatown. Having said that, we had a great meal. Dishes were well presented, tasty and quick to arrive. Good range of cocktails and drinks to start the evening and throughout the meal. We had one vegetarian and they were... More

Great food and good service. One dish returned (very tough beef - the third for the evening apparently). Apart from that, it was delightful.

I visited here last night after finding that a nearby favourite is closed on weekends. We decided to check out the restaurant under the bird cages, and were not disappointed. At first we hesitated, realising it was Chinese and not really in the mood for deep fried chicken and pork....however this is not your standard, run of the mill Chinese.... More

In Sydney for work and dining out with a table of six colleagues .. that can be tricky to find somewhere everyone likes. Chinese restaurants tend to be a default for work dinners for both budget and choice. This one thankfully transcends the usual and provides some really interesting dishes whilst delivering the staples well. The service was great, even... More

Enjoyed the food - designed to share, it was lovely. The fit out was nice with both indoor and outdoor seating. However, we were very disappointed with the service. The waitress made it her mission to remind us from the beginning of our meal and throughout that we had a 2 hour sitting. We felt incredibly rushed - yet there... More

This is not your standard neighborhood or Chinatown Chinese restaurant but more in the mode of modern Chinese cooking that Kylie Kwong thankfully brought to Sydney. The restaurant is both elegant and comfortable tucked away in a quiet lane behind busy Martin Place in the CBD. My daughters asked me to take them to a birthday lunch here and I... More

I had the pleasure of dining at China Lane last week. Our waitress was helpful with our menu selection. I had the best San choy bau ever! The dumplings were divine. The dishes were well thought out and beautifully presented. I will be back. Thank you

Very friendly staff, tasty food and quite a central location... Both of the last couple of times I've been there we have asked the waiter/waitress to bring out a selection of dishes to graze on, and have been pleasantly surprised on each occasion. :) Fresh, creative dishes. Worth giving them a go.
