Exceptional quality.... It is expensive but you get what you pay for. If i had one last meal on earth - it'll be sokyo. A group of friends and I are now fans. Thankyou for a great evening.

Walked in with no reservation on a Wednesday night approx 7pm Place was full and we chose the option to dine at the bar, in a quite space on comfy lounges. Actually I was quite satisfied with this option, and if I had to return, I would consider this option again. Decided to share 5 Shashimi dishes ( 4 were... More

I had high expectations for this Japanese place, and it was very good, but I thought the price and service were lacking that special touch to make it 5 star. We had a special room due to the size of our group, so I can't comment on the main restaurant decor as I was shown to our room on arrival.... More

Came here as a treat a while ago and I can't fault the place. The flavours were incredible. As a vegan I'm used to being made to feel like a second-class citizen but not here - the dishes I was able to eat were prepared with care and love, the flavours were so interesting and novel and the service was... We booked a table of five for dinner at 7:30. Lets start off with the decor, it was great, well lit, glossy, modern, and sophisticated, even the bathroom looked amazing. Sadly on the night we were informed by our waitress that they have ran out of Oysters, Prawn Tempura and the best-selling Oo-toro (fatty tuna) and even Chu-toro (mid-fatty). Hmm...... More

Wow ! Amazing cocktail lounge, exquisite Japanese food and the styling in the restaurant was superb. We took my daughter to the theatre and went to Sokyo as the pre-dinner restuarant. We had the pre-theatre selection of food which was exquisite. Unfortunately, as much as my daughter is a foodie (she is only 7) the food was a little too... More

Try the Espresso Martinis and you'll walk away very happy. This is well set out, vibrant bar, with plenty to choose from on the drinks menu. Friendly and knowledgeable staff as well. Will return when next in Sydney.

Smart space and very attentive service but our food was a little disappointing. I'm not a fan of that style of Japanese that has mayonnaise all over it: in 3 of the 4 dishes we had the prevailing flavour was "sweat"; subtlety and complexity not a feature. Perhaps we just chose badly.

Incredible. Sat at the bar watched the chefs work. Food was outstanding, staff amazing, cocktails while we waited for the table were modern and really great. Will continue to dine here.

Fusion is a word being thrown around in the gastronomic circles but few in my experience has succeeded to the same degree as Sokyo. I have yet to see another restaurant where the application of western cuisine techniques and presentation has blended so seamlessly with traditional Japanese quality. Service is impeccable at fine dining standard. The food is always excellent.... More
