I went for lunch with friends on a Saturday. I don't usually eat Japanese but I really liked the food. They have a set lunch menu that you can have and you can choose three different dishes and they come with salad and miso soup. However one of the dishes is sashimi and I didn't want it but they would... More

Hit this place for a date, thinking that it would be a great Japanese restaurant. Well, the restaurant part is true. Maitre D spoke not a word of Japanese and acted holier than thou, the most authentic was the sushi and sashimi. Most of the other dishes were western with asian ingredients. Don't get me wrong the food wasn't bad,... More

A great evening where we trusted the wait staff to order for us. We were a table of 9 and left totally full of wonderful delicious food. Cost was less than expected at $135 a head, including copious amounts of wine (but only the $35 bottles!) Red wine - one choice at $35, then next choice at $75 plus ........ More

I like the concept and the oysters at the bar were so good. Great service the Queenland sokyo rolls were pretty ordinary. But good decent place! Worth going for a date

Food and service are execellent! Would be even better if there are more choices on the memu. Remember this is a fine dining place, so expect the dishes are little bit pricy.

We had breakfast in the Sokyo breakfast room last Sunday. The food was good but as it is designed to have the Japanese touch it is lacking in many of the western foods which some travelers might not like. The eggs ordered all came with an abundance of Japanese beans which some in my group did not appreciate. The waiter... More

Dined at Sokyo for dinner. Service was excellent. Our food arrived super fast. This restaurant is a family style concept, but the server was happy to accommodate our request to order individual plates. There are so many unique dishes and unique presentations. Have the fun was watching what the other tables ordered. Order the sashimi plate for a dramatic presentation.... More

OMG This is by far the most amazing Japanese food I've ever tasted, mouth watering dishes that I just can't get enough of . Every dish is amazing and you can't go past the cod . These chefs are absolutely brilliant, I had the pleasure of meeting the head chef. I really can't describe how amazing the food is .... More

We went there around 1pm on Saturday and managed to get seats for two. My husband and I love seating at the counter of any Japanese restaurants watching the chefs preparing the food and sometimes talking to them (they can recommend something that is not on the menu). We went for the Omakase (gave a budget of AUS130/per pax) and... More
