incredible bondi junction DJ Food hall

The food hall on the lower level of David Jones at Bondi Junction is sensational quality at a reasonable price. The sushi bar, Thai noodles and fruit salad bars are all sensational. For the grown ups the champagne bar serving good French champagnes are a good way to make shopping more relaxing.

Normally wouldn't eat here but looking at the dishes on the mini sushi train was enticed to give it a go. Glad I did. Superior ingredients, flavour and presentation to other "sushi train" experiences I've had in Sydney. The Inari Sushi with generous seaweed topping was delicious! The Salmon Ngiri was great too. Service was better than most other similar... More

Quick, fresh meals, huge variety of sushi/sashimi/salad and variations in between. Hot dishes (gyoza, standard chick and rice etc). Can eat in or take out, which is what this writer does at least once a week. Never had a bad meal here.

A wonderful memory as we visited this world-famous oyster bar for the first time in 25 years .As ever if you order a dozen oysters they give you 13. Superb, friendly service, superb oysters. Don't miss if you go to Sydney.

We've had lots terrific Sushi before in Japan. And Sushi in the food court of a David Jones might not sound like the best idea. But it is.... The Sushi they serve is brillant. All tasted really fresh and the fish was of high quality. Most of the plates are really close to Sushi in Japan...and some come with some... More

Just purchased 1 x tempura prawn + Avocado Sushi Roll The Prawn was watery and tasteless; on the second bite I realised the food was spongy and old. Within 4 minutes I was vomiting it up. On inspection after my barf, the tempura prawn was slimey. There was also another slimey substance on the seaweed. Very disappointing. I am going... More

I had not really considered eating a main meal from the David Jones food hall, and had a bit of time spare in Sydney after a business meeting. Walking through Pitt street mall and other shops led me to the food hall in David Jones. The rain restricted me walking to my usual Japanese restaurant so I tried the sushi... More

Always love coming to the DJs foodhall when we visit Sydney. The oyster and seafood bar great for a sit down, fresh seafood lunch. Oysters can be served in several ways and a mixed selection- au naturale, kilpatrick or mornay. I chose 3 au naturale and 3 kilpatrick as an entree , my husband chose 6 fresh king prawns with... Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
