Mission was a serendipitous find. Our taxi took a short cut down an alley, Little Queen Street, to avoid traffic. A delivery truck blocked the way for a few minutes, an organic produce vendor delivering to Mission. We thought the graphics, entry design and organic produce suggested it was worth exploring. Mission, in the close-in Chippendale suburb of Sydney, is... More

This restaurant is nothing short of amazing.. The gorgeous day core is bright, welcoming and friendly, and showcasing some of australia's best artists like a favourite of mine Jonny Romeo...Service is warm, attentive and seemed to have a good knowledge of the food and wine..Now the food....Salt cod croquettes were delicious, they were salty, smooth, packed full of flavour and cleverly balanced by a fresh orange... We were really tired and just wanted to get back to the hotel. We asked if they would do some takeaways that were on the eat-in menu and they were really obliging. Sat down to a small banquet of flavoursome delights.

I absolutely loved this place! History, art and great food converge beautifully. We came a bit early so decided to order some wine and made our way upstairs to the gallery while we waited for our other friends. Such a nice space to chat away x enjoy the art. Service was great and the food was extremely tasty and fresh!... More

Tucked away in a Chippendale lane way in a converted church with an art gallery upstairs, we had a lovely cosy Friday night dinner after another Chippendale gallery opening. Parking was easy on the street, quiet on an early Friday night and Jacarandas blooming: felt like we were in Soho. Beautifully flavoursome share plates including octopus croquettes, a sensational prawn... More

I'm somewhat loath to review this slightly out of the way spot, because I want to be able to get a booking whenever I want! Its really terrific - great service and the kind of high quality bistro style food seldom found in Sydney. I had a devine shoulder of lamb with complex flavours and my partner pronounced his rich... Don't know why this place is not ranked more highly. Have always had fabulous food and great service. Even on cold, miserable week nights it is filled. Excellent value. Hidden away, a true gem.
