Chophouse is located at 25 Bligh St Sydney. Designed as a tribute to the old New York steakhouse, Chophouse references a bygone era. Inspired by the industrial & perhaps even a subtle nod to the rawness of the abattoir, the building’s original substructure has been unearthed. |Elements have been stripped back to their raw, primitive nature while maintaining a certain edge & sex appeal. Chophouse is a culinary and visual experience....

Top notch

On business in Sydney. Friendly staff did not make me feel awkward, dining solo. Great atmosphere, fantastic steak (aged T-bone), cold beer. Salad was nothing special, but that's forgiven.... Bravo, I'll be back.

I took my husband here for his birthday and we were not disappointed. In booking I mentioned it was my husbands birthday and upon arrival the waiter wished him happy birthday (along with 3 other staff members throughout the night). The atmosphere is amazing, such a welcoming and beautifully designed place with great ambience! We ordered the beef rib and... More

Great food, service and choices of ÇHOPS. Excellent selection of accompanying beers and wines. A different experience to other steak houses.

The steak is supposed to be "the hero" of the meal. It was a huge disappointment. I took a friend here for his birthday, having told him for some time about the amazing Waygu steak I had at Chophouse in 2013. We both chose the Wagyu Rump Top ($42 for 200g). It had a fair bit of gristle, virtually no... More

A group of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal here last week. The restaurant was full and it was a pleasant night so quite a lot were sitting outside too. The food was delicious. Everyone was very happy with the quality and the way their steaks etc were cooked

We came on a Saturday evening without reservation. We tried calling earlier but their reservation system didn't pick up and after 7pm you couldn't call anyone. So we just rocked up and got a table upstairs. The interior is quite nice, it's a small pleasant place to sit in. We had two other large tables at the same time. They... More

I came in with a high expectation due to word of mouth. I'm glad that I wasn't disappointed. I ordered the glazed beef short rib. It was tender. But I think sauce wins the day. It's something like BBQ sauce with a slight flavour of ginger. At the end I kept forking the plate for the left over sauce, I... More

Made our booking after seeing good reviews both by visitors and professional critics. On arrival we were pleased to see the lively downstairs area under the arches but unfortunately our table was upstairs in a small, dimly lit room, atmosphere there was not!! All of this would be insignificant if the meal lived up to expectations. It did not disappoint... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
