We have visited a number of times and are never disappointed. Always greeted with a smile at the door which is somewhat rare these days. The food here is good - traditional flavours which are sure to hit the spot. Wine list is extensive, and reasonably priced. Staff are efficient and, as mentioned, are genuinely lovely. Will continue to return.

We pop-up there without reservation on fri night and as we expected, full house of course, we had a few drinks and the bar and table was ready for us. We order a lot of tapas like garlic prawn, tortilla cheese and many dishes which were good. The best thing about this restaurant is atmosphere and service. You can come... More

Finding somewhere decent to eat in central Sydney on a midweek night can be a problem. Unless you're at Darling Harbour or Chinatown, or venture out to Surry Hills and such, pickings can be scarce in the CBD. But Subsolo, a basement Tapas bar in the eastern part of the CBD, was a really pleasant surprise. It's an unobtrusive entrance... More

Good atmosphere, good food, good service - overall a very positive dining experience. The service was quick and friendly, enjoyed the experience but I think the list of wines could be expanded a bit further. Churros for dessert I think are compulsory!

I went to Subsolo again on Saturday night and have to say it is now no longer on my list of favourite restaurants, in fact I actively dislike eating there. The service is ok, the ambience is good, but the food...well what did arrive wasn't impressive. To start with when we ordered we were told that they had run out... More

Having dined here for both lunch and dinner on a few occasions over the last six months, we've found the service to be good (attentive and friendly) as well as the food. In terms of the food, a there's a good selection of meat, seafood and vegetarian dishes available. As well as having a good selection of tapas dishes, there... More

Our concierge at our hotel recommended Subsolo. A quick walk (10 mins) from the Westin Sydney was just what we needed after a long flight and day of sightseeing. Located on King St., you walk downstairs to the dark but inviting restaurant. Very lively, and bustling, the food here is tapas (plate sharing). We had a fantastic server originally from... More

The food was absolutely amazing - the sangria was the best we've ever had (and we've been to spain!). The service was great and the meals were just divine. Perfect size portions and the cost was justified by the quality of the food. Loved it.

Arrived early and within 30 minutes the place was packed. My host knew the manager and we had excellent attentive service. All the food was excellent, especially the manchego balls, cured ham and the meat on a skewer. Fine wines. By the time we left there was not a seat and it was quite loud. Reservations definitely recommended.
