Not bad taste but not much food for $11

This place seemed to be busy and we just wanted to eat some food and sit on the break wall. So we went here. There was a long queue and we had to wait quite a while for our takeaway. We ordered three of the $11 fish and chips, between four as usually there is too much. Not this time,... read more

The seafood was great and oysters were even better. Only thing we did not appreciate was the fellow diner having two very large dogs under his table while we were eating.

You know the food must be good when you get ticket number 98 and they have just served ticket number 45! And the 30+ minute wait was worth every minute. The freshness of the seafood was the winner and the fish was cooked to perfection. The staff were all efficient and friendly, with the service undertaken with a minimum of... More

We ordered a piece of Battered Dori from the take-a-way menu and $8 Calamari (at $0.90 a piece!) without the chips. (We did not want chips.) We bought some fresh fish from the fresh fish counter and got 8 small pieces for AUD$12. The cooked Dori worked out at twice the fresh fish price. So, in future we will not... More

We had Barramundi and chips, seems silly to review such a basic meal but seafood is what this place does and most people rave about the seafood and the fish and chips. I am sorry but the chips were ordinary, flaccid, and the barramundi what there was of it was average. Too much batter. Overall greasy. Might have been a... More

We came to this place thinking the Co-op would have the freshest seafood from the local North Coast region. However, the calamari was very disappointing. I tasted more deep fried batter than calamari. The calamari was almost non existent in the rings that I received. To me it seemed artificial. I didn't finish them, as they didn't taste like fresh... If you are looking for fish and chips in Coffs Harbour, this seems to be the place to go. Down at the Jetty, always bustling. Reminds me of a mini version of Morgans in Scarborough in Brisbane. Good choice of seafood and enough turnover to make sure it's really fresh.

Disappointing on boxing day. Ordered for family and paid. Then waited 1 hour and 45 minutes. When the order came they forgot part of our order, meaning my sister and husband's family missed out on food. The fish and calamari was average. Itrs such a shame as the location is fantastic...an opportunity missed. It would have been nice if they... More

Waited over an hour for a small meal with two kids with the order never arriving until we went to cancel it! We were no 43 and numbers 71 were getting called even as we were cancelling it. Plenty of staff on too! Do not take your family there unless you want to drive to Valla beach and back before... More

We've been here twice now (the first time was last week) because: 1) food is reasonably priced 2) food is fresh & delicious 3) the service is good Both times we ordered the same thing - the Tempura Calamari (a dozen $9.50) and the Seafood Basket for 2 ($25.50). This was sufficient to feed our family of 4. With the... More
