I have forgiven the rubbish service and lack of courtesy for years - enough is enough. Last week went: staff talking to each other, ignore we standing at the counter for 2 mins, staff - "are you right?", me - "do you have any seeded roll left", staff - "no" me - "can I please have a coffee then", staff... Dropped in for coffee and cake. The only thing left was a blueberry tart. Coffee was good, tart was good, staff were very good and friendly. Only bad thing was how busy the place was!

Cannot get enough of it. A bit pricey but well worth it. Coffee were good too. Only down side is difficult to get a table on most weekends.

We visit Canberra often and make a point to pick up pastries from Silo. I was looking forward to enjoying breakfast there and was disappointed by the rudeness of staff. My husband and I were with three children under 10, it was 2 degrees outside and when we asked for a table the best response we got was "the only... More

Recommended by friends and we weren't disappointed. They were qeueing in the street - you have to go in and put your name down and they will come and get you when there is a table. Super food and great pastries!

I know its supposed 'the place' in Kingston - but I refuse to return to any cafe/restaurant a second time when I find those serving act like you should feel privileged to be eating there. So if you don't mind the wanky people serving, and the usual expensive food that we've learnt to expect from cafes in Canberra - then... More

Had breakfast here on the weekend and the food was great! The selection of pastries are plentiful, incredibly tasty and well made. It is very busy, small and a little confusing however, as there is no indication that there is table service so I mistakenly stood in the long queue for the take away. Food arrived very quickly as well!

This tiny little bakery is a gold mine! The pastries, bread, coffee, breakfasts (anything with the tomato chilli jam), baguettes, lunches, juices - IT'S ALL AMAZING. The restaurant is tiny and there's frequently a queue/long wait for a table. It's worth it. The space is tight so don't consider bringing a pram or wheelchair unless you're going to sit outside.... Definitely great array of baked goods. Quality was high and service was quick - quick and impersonal... I ordered take-away food. I will try a sit-down meal next time to give it another shot.

This place is to simply Australia's best bakery. All the pastries & breads are cooked on site. The pastries, tarts and breads are simply amazing; from the decadent chocolate and peppercorn tarts, simple yet elegant lemon tarts to the mind-blowing pear and caramel tart - you cannot miss visiting this place in Canberra. The coffee is consistency great and the... More
