The pastries at Silo are simply outstanding, and I have experienced them both eating in-house and also take-away. Coffee and a pastry is a great experience from this well known spot well located in the Kingston shops

This visit was disappointing - the staff are quite rude as some previous reviewers have noticed - the coffee is average, the pastries are still quite nice but expensive. When next visiting Canberra I will no longer try to visit this establishment. There are many more places that can supply the type of experience I seek. I shall head for... More

We are regular visitors to Silo, although we have never actually dined there, preferring to get takeaway. The tarts and pastries are some of the best I've ever eaten. The bread rolls are crusty, fresh, and crammed with interesting fillings. My only complaint is that they do not open on Sundays or Mondays. For my partner and I, a visit... More

Arrived here at about 11.00 Saturday morning. Sat at a table and waited to be served but we seemed invisible. So after 10 minutes got up and joined a long queue to order at counter. Anyway as I went to order they said for eat in was table service only (I just wanted any service!) so i got a couple... More

This cafe was just to die for- the food, coffee & wine simply outstanding. Service was impeccable and price was very reasonable. All the locals seemed to go here and all were quick to recommend this place.

Dropped in to this little bakery today and not only picked up some really delicious bread but enjoyed the most interesting and tasty meal we've had for a long time. We ordered the Red Snapper Brik which was a piece of brik pastry wrapped around the snapper and some spinach and baked. This was served on a bed of pumpkin... More

We were lucky to get a table inside for lunch on a rather cool Canberra day. We were greeted pleasantly, allowed to settle and consider the menu, before the specials were described. Three of us chose a special and while we all agreed on the quality, taste and presentation had mixed thoughts on size. The recommended accompanying wines were a... More

Wonderful baked goods. Their "Evie" (puff pastry with apple, raisin, and almonds) is superb. It just melts in the mouth!

Great food and coffee, our only gripe was the the web site says no booking for breakfast, but on arriving at 8 on a Saturday morning, many tables reserved! Food delicious as always, with the take home purchases of almond croissants, disappearing very rapidly. Service friendly.

I have forgiven the rubbish service and lack of courtesy for years - enough is enough. Last week went: staff talking to each other, ignore we standing at the counter for 2 mins, staff - "are you right?", me - "do you have any seeded roll left", staff - "no" me - "can I please have a coffee then", staff...
