We visited the Ruby Chinese Restaurant for the first time on the weekend. We dined with friends who had been before. The food was very good, but the service was pathetic. It seemed that the staff were totally uncoordinated & appeared poorly trained & inexperienced. We had to just about beg for some of the food & drink to be... More

This restaurant is no doubt the best chinese restaurant in Canberra. You'd have to try the seafood to see what i mean. It is pricy but you can get the fresh and safe food.

The food is ok but overpriced. The manager Ruby Chan is the worst manager I've ever come across - rude and abrupt. I would not recommend this joint to people- go somewhere else!

We came and did the banquet with family. Banquet didn't really have food I would usually choose but it was fresh and cooked well. Service was great. Meal definitely very expensive compared to others in the area and more special occasion food. I'd like to go back and order some more exotic items off the menu. Only real gripe is... More

The Manager: Amy Chan was a horrid and rude lady. She personally mislead my friends and I, by not alarming us of the min. amount of food we had to order per head;which was absolutely horrid. We alarm customers to avoid this restaurant or proceed with caution. Please read fine print at the front of the menu. This restaurant ultimately broke consumer... More

The quality of the food is good. However, the seafood is very expensive. They have not listed the price of fresh seafood in the menu. According to the staff, the crab is AU$ 78 per kilo and the fresh fish as well. However, it is still hard to believe, the crab I ordered (the shell is slightly smaller than my... More

Ruby's is an institution. Most of our visits to Canberra end up at Ruby's, be it a small group of four or 10 or more in the private dining rooms out the back. To get the ball rolling the Hot and Sour Soup is a rip snorter. Thick with ingredients and numbing on the tongue it's impossible to stop until... More

This place is amazing! We ate so much food here! Squid, prawns, chicken, beef. The staff dont really have too great English and 1 dish was mistakenly served to us and then taken away from us and when we asked what it was (because it tasted really good) they could not tell us. We never found out what it was.... More

We love good quality Chinese food and this restaurant has some of the best! Their dry fried beef is particularly good. We had it with Chef's special sauce and it was so delicious that we could have licked the plate.
