To be honest, i would of scored 3 stars for this restaurant, but Mrs JB was very impressed, so we ended up with 4 stars. Staff were pleasent from the time of arrival, through to seating and throughout the entire service. Ambience of the restaurant is nice, but maybe a little to clinical for my liking. We really wanted an... More

The recent negative reviews on Tripadvisor are surprising; our experience was superb! The staff were so very attentive and friendly helping us to enjoy one of the best meals we have ever had (and I am very fussy!) The food was delicious and beautifully presented; and staff were very happy for us to share entrees and these were plated up... More

I dined here a couple of months ago with a work group. We had the banquet , very average, I left starving. Being from Sydney I expected beautiful big platters of tantalising cuisine. Each of us ended up with a plate of rice, some lettuce leaves, and a piece of each meat that got served. I thought for the price... More

Hyped dishes nice but lacking the expected badabing! Nice, friendly service. Decent wine list. Ice creams yummy, chewy...

Lovely food, very simple but done so very well. The flavours in each dish are what I remember most, a beautiful balance. The service was a little hit and miss, they were very friendly but we felt as though we were lost in the crowd at times (it was a very busy night though). I'll definately be back.

Good quality Turkish food in a converted former public service cafeteria. Efficient service and quiet. But a pricey wine list and overall expensive. The main dining room used to have a more Ottoman-y feel but unfortunately it was altered to the current rather bland, airport lounge feel. Overall perfectly ok but overpriced.

The service, ambience and decor was impeccable. We tried their degustation menu. The flavours were hearty, traditional and filling. My favourite was the scallop moussaka and most of the wine pairings were spot on except the pinot noir with the duck was probably too much on the sweet side. The dishes lacked the creativity, complexity and flair in presentation that... More

I've lived in Canberra for a long time, and I had been to Ottoman probably 15-20 years ago when it was located in Manuka. For many years I've heard people praise the place - particularly since its relocation to Barton - but somehow never managed to go there myself. Perhaps the fact that I worked just down the street from... More

I really enjoyed Ottoman. I think you could call it contemporary Turkish. Lots of expected flavours but with little twists. Everything was good, but the highlights were the salmon dolmas, lamb shoulder and the tuna carpaccio special. Beautifully set in an original Burley-Griffin pavillion- a Canberra institution
