Exactly what you'd expect from a family-run Italian restaurant. Good service, excellent food, generous proportions. Definitely a place to come back to.

I have been coming to La Capanna for many years. The pizzas are always great and the service is very friendly. If you are after a casual Italian, I would certainly recommend them.

Had a meal on a Sunday evening. Nice atmosphere, but slightly cramped due to closeness of tables - our son could not move easily from his seat, and one chair was impossible to use as it backed onto another table. That being said, the meal we had was very good. The small pizza for children was perfect size, and obviously... More

We stopped here for lunch. Great service & great food. First up we had great coffee. Next a great soup & as my title says "best pizza ever". We finished of with Italian deserts. YUM, and generous servings. The service was great, wouldn't complain at all & so reading the previous reviews makes me feel like we must be talking... More

We've been going to La Capanna for years, and have always found the food & service delightful, and the restaurant cozy & full of character. It seems to have changed hands, and while the food remains fantastic - the service is lacking. While the more mature male waiter leaned against the door staring into space & the young female waitress... More

Were in Canberra for a few days and wanted to have dinner at La Capanna as my partner had been there previously (a few years ago) and loved it. We did not have a booking and could not get a table on a Saturday evening around 6.30pm. We decided to have a drink at the Belgium Beer Cafe and wait... More

I used to eat at la Capanna on a bi weekly basis when a lovely guy named Gino ran the place. After three years overseas I was very much looking forward to going back last week but was dismally disappointed. The place was a vapid hole where once it was brimming with atmosphere, the service was terrible, as if they'd... More

La Capanna remains one of my favourite restaurants for ambience, service and food. As it was a mild evening the tables inside and out were full by 7pm - always a good sign. Apparently the restaurant has new owners since my last visit. My only disappointment was the lack of healthy pasta dishes. Apart from the "spag bol" which I... More

Walking around Kingston looking for somewhere to eat we saw this place - it was quite full and we got the only table not occupied or reserved - it looked very popular with locals. Great Italian pasta's - good pizza options and plenty of desserts. The chef (who I suspect is also owner) also came out to talk to guests... More

We enjoyed an evening with a few friends from the gym on a Saturday night at La Capanna in Kingston. The restaurant has been a fixture in the Kingston restaurant scene for decades. It was a pleasant evening. It is a modest sized restaurant with a front window that fully opens on hot days, even though there is an air... More
