Solid Italian comfort food.

La Capanna is a pretty straightforward Italian restaurant. Come here for Italian comfort food, not for haute cuisine or innovative fare. Had the banquet as we were a large party. The food was delicious and loads of it! We couldn't eat it all and had plenty to take home. The service was quick, friendly and happy. Great place to dine with kids too.

Stock standard menu of pizzas and pastas and the predictable starters. Atmosphere is nice enough with stereotypical Italian pop music (think "Volare"by Dean Martin, etc. etc.) which was on as we walked in - I like this song, so... More

Ate here last night for the third time since previous well known owner, Gino, had left. Once again it was very enjoyable fare. Reasonably priced, which is so important when dining with children, the food has not sufferered at all under new ownership. Yes the seating is a bit uncomfortable and cramped, and yes, it is noisy when busy, but... More

Located in Kingston a quiet suburb of Canberra, this small restaurant serves pizza and pasta primarily. Service was smart and friendly and the food good at a reasonable price.

We ate here on a wet Saturday night right in the middle of the restaurant's rush hour. The food was pretty much what you'd expect from a suburban Italian restaurant and all three of us enjoyed our choices of pasta and pizza. The service was a bit hit and miss but the waitress was very apologetic for the delays. We... More

This restaurant has great pizza. I would highly recommend the CAMPAGNOLA, with Tomato base, rocket, fresh prosciutto and shaved parmesan. YUM. The pizza base is just right. Not too thick, not too thin, done in a pizza oven to perfection. 2 large pizza's between 4 of us only comes to $14 each. Not a bad price for a really good... More

I made the trip out to la Capanna recently because it used to be one of my favourite restaurants. I was so disappointed, the food was terrible, the service was okay but we waited so long for our food. We asked for water 3 times and never got it. I don't know what happend to this place but I will... More

La Capana is just a nice place to eat good Italian food. We have never had a bad meal here & the hosts are really nice.

my friend dragged me back here after a previous unpleasant experience. Big mistake once again. the food is o.k . the service was good despite the middle aged owner berating a waitress at the top of her voice from the kitchen area..so embarrassing. nothing worse really. we felt so sorry for the young girl.

Family friendly restaurant with suburb food and service. Best pasta and pizza! Must try antipasto and ravioli. Their pizza are most delicious. Great food, great wine and friendly host.
