Not traditional Italian which I like

This place isn't your normal traditional Italian restaurant, they don't cover everything with olive oil, which is what I prefer. This place isn't your normal traditional Italian restaurant, they don't cover everything with olive oil, which is what I prefer. The service was average, the young lady working there was lovely, always friendly and smiling, she made the place and is a keeper. The other staff might need to learn some of her hospitality manners. Despite some of the reviews on here, our experience at this restaurant was a very good one. The service provided was quick and friendly, and the food was well presented and delicious. What was particularly impressive was that this restaurant was actually open, when so many are closed on a Sunday night. Highly recommended, not just on Sunday nights!

The Haig is a wonderful restaurant, great food, great service and a very warm atmosphere. The Haig did the catering for my wedding, later on for my sons christening, i would highly recommended it for any sort of occasion. I currently have my aunt here from overseas and knew that taking her to dinner at the Haig was a guaranteed... More

This place is great if you go to bed at 8pm, this is general in Canberra very little open in terms of food after 9 pm. We thought this place attached to a hotel might be open a little longer, we seem to get door slammed in our face rather than saying we close in 5min but can do a... More

Food is good, lots of choices and reasonable priced. If you stay at the hotel you get 10% at the restaurant. Drinks are also reasonably priced.

We left simply feeling sad that we wasted $80. We were seated by a window that had a draft. The drink orders took 15 minutes and a reminder before they arrived. Staff then came and asked if we wanted out side dish to come to table at the same time as our mains. We said yes. They then bought that... More

We tend to sit outside on Fridays and watch the weather and the street scene. Good Italian food and afordable wine. Well worth a visit.

The service was excellent, reasonably priced, and the food, I couldn't fault! We had Sicilian spice chicken and fettucini and it was exquisite, full of flavour and the homemade pasta made the dish! It was a gourmets delight. For we had potato skins with Aoli. These were average. The dessert, well that's another story! It blew out minds and taste... More
