Overpriced and outdated.

After hearing such compelling advertising (women lamenting the fact that despite being in Europe, they miss The Haig), we felt we should go along and check it out. My husband and I went for dinner here entrees, mains and deserts we finished on! I enjoyed every bit of our dinner and the service was fantastic, lively chatty staff that made sure you feel right at home! Great value and great food, great service that's what you need to have a great dinner out! Thanks to all

After hearing such compelling advertising (women lamenting the fact that despite being in Europe, they miss The Haig), we felt we should go along and check it out. The best way to describe it was simply an overall disappointment. The décor is so out-dated, I'm not sure it's been touched since the 80's. Most RSL clubs have a nicer décor.... More

We had been wanting to try this restaurant for quite some time and we aren't planning a return visit. Whilst the food is "nice" it certainly isn't good value. I would have expected the quality of my lamb cutlet dish at a local pub and it wouldn't have cost me $30. A nearby diner had the "Grill of the Day"... More

Greeted at the door by a very pleasant young man who was very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately the service went downhill from there. The older female with brown shoulder length hair was quite abrupt and in no way interested in small talk like the young gentleman. She seemed in a hurry to get people served and out of there. She... Went with the family for a birthday celebration. The staff were cheerful, attentive and quick to look after us. The choice was more than adequate, the food arrived at just the right time and without being exceptional it was great value and tasty. We had small children and a toddler with us and they looked after us with high chairs,... More

Went there for a business dinner and was wishing from the time I entered this place that I had booked elsewhere. The waiters for slow, inexperienced and one of them thought he was funny by making stupid remarks about how we was going to overcharge us. Well...looking at the food what we got, we paid definitely way too much. The desert... More

Had the pleasure of dining here on a cool Canberra evening - and was not disappointed. Starting with a very flavoursome bruschetta, the mains we ate were extremely scrumptious and filling! Successfully tempted by a beaut desert menu, we both left the restaurant very full and satisfied. Haig is very clean and it's staff are very friendly, efficient and informative.... More

We ate here with the 3 kids. The staff were great, provided colouring materials for the kids to keep them entertained. Service was fast and efficient. The fish of the day was snapper done very well. The salmon had sensational crispy skin and the kids meals were just the right size. A bargain priced family meal of good quality.

I sent my friend and husband for dinner for her birthday because this is her favourite restaurant. I had a $60 voucher which I figured would be great as a gift only to find out how disappointed she was in the meal and service. Her husbands entree of prawns was very over cooked. Her main meal was terrible. 3 very... More
