I went to the Bookplate for lunch after visiting Floriade with a neighbour. We got there a little late, so there wasn't much choice in the sandwiches. My neighbour chose a wrap and I had the freshly made soup which was delicious. The coffee was excellent. The staff were very nice, efficient and friendly. Good place for a pit stop... More

Best thing about Bookplate is the atmosphere. The Library is a magical place and the food is always satisfying. Sitting outside on a warm day over looking the lake is just awesome.

Attended on Saturday with family. All out of sandwiches or rolls, which our grand child likes and no children's options, so a bowl of chips it was. The two salads we ordered were ok but had been sitting in the display and cost way too much for a salad. Nearly finished our meals before the child's chips arrived. Overall disappointing,... More

We loved the location with the stained glass windows letting in light across the Cafe. Alternately, you can sit outside, up high, and look across the lake. The service was professional and quick for such a busy time of Sunday brunch. We definitely will visit again. Good food too, is always a bonus!

Long queues only to find poor and limited choices that take ages and cost way too much. If you eat outside look out for stealing birds and get one of your party to mind the table as others steal it quickly even if you leave something showing someone is sitting there.

We enjoyed a Saturday lunch here (Canberra was pouring that day) and I was impressed by the service and also the relative informality. Love the fish and chips and service was quick, prompt and polite. Interestingly, the house rules are that between noon and 2pm patrons shouldn't be using the tables for laptop, tablet work, etc, but I saw a... More

The Bookplate is a very special to me; it's where my husband and I got married. It provided a sophisticated venue, outstanding catering including a range of food and beverage options and personal service from the gorgeous owner, Rachel. She made our day. Thank you to Rachel and the team. The Bookplate is also a lovely place to go for... More

What a treat to find such a nice place with a great outlook near major venue in Canberra. Decor not over the top but service was very good and nice simple choices for a late lunch - great coffee

Great views, great food. Not sure why they think the super large cup of coffee makes sense. It gets cold before you can drink it...but I am just being picky
