Bookplate was a special place as we were married in the forecourt of the National Library. Afterwards, we were served the beautifully cooked and presented degustation meal that we chose in consultation with Rachel. We chose the Bookplate instead of the couple of iconic Canberran restaurants because of our interaction with her (and the lake views!). While the others offered... More

Went to Bookplate on Sunday for breakfast and were very dissapointed with the breakfast selection that we left to find another restaurant ! We gave it another go two days ago as we had visitors from interstate and the view is so great. Once again we were dissapointed as food options very limited but we had the fish and chips... More

Had a lovely casual lunch here. Pleasant sitting out under the umbrellas looking out to the lake. The cafeteria style food is fresh and moderately priced.

It's one of my favorite lunch spots in Canberra for the creativity in flavor combinations on the ever changing menu. I'm thrilled to see it reopen!

I went to the Bookplate for lunch after visiting Floriade with a neighbour. We got there a little late, so there wasn't much choice in the sandwiches. My neighbour chose a wrap and I had the freshly made soup which was delicious. The coffee was excellent. The staff were very nice, efficient and friendly. Good place for a pit stop... More

Best thing about Bookplate is the atmosphere. The Library is a magical place and the food is always satisfying. Sitting outside on a warm day over looking the lake is just awesome.

Attended on Saturday with family. All out of sandwiches or rolls, which our grand child likes and no children's options, so a bowl of chips it was. The two salads we ordered were ok but had been sitting in the display and cost way too much for a salad. Nearly finished our meals before the child's chips arrived. Overall disappointing,... More

We loved the location with the stained glass windows letting in light across the Cafe. Alternately, you can sit outside, up high, and look across the lake. The service was professional and quick for such a busy time of Sunday brunch. We definitely will visit again. Good food too, is always a bonus!

Long queues only to find poor and limited choices that take ages and cost way too much. If you eat outside look out for stealing birds and get one of your party to mind the table as others steal it quickly even if you leave something showing someone is sitting there.
