My dinner companion and I really enjoyed our dinner here the other night. The service was spot on, the servings reasonable, the food very enjoyable. I think others were a bit harsh! I've been to Turkey, and certainly whilst no expert, I thought the food at Alanya's was more than acceptable. I can't rave about it, but the atmosphere was... More

I went to Alanya with some friends this week, and I have to say I was very impressed with the food, service and atmosphere as a whole. The restaurant has managed to keep its originality in its décor and furnishings which gives it a unique vibe in a good way. As a group we thought the food was amazing from... More

I liked the little restaurant and their food(I would have liked a little larger helpings). It was close to my hotel. The food was actually above standards and the service was fantastic.

When you wallk into Alanya Turkish Restaurant you will be immediately taken back to the 1980's and unfortunately, the restuarant and its food has not moved on from that time. The bevelled square tiled mirrows, black piping vinyal chairs, plastic table flowers and vertical blinds looking out to the back alleyway immediately have alarm bells ringing inside your head. However,... More

I went to Alanya with a few work colleagues and enjoyed a pleasant evening over dinner. However, while the meals and service were OK, I was perhaps expecting more distinctive flavours to come through in what were described as authentic Turkish dishes. The presentation and menu choices seemed good enough, but somehow I left wanting more. The atmosphere I found... More

The taste of the food was good, but the portions are so small! We left about $320 there for the banquet and if it wasn't for the bread filling us up, we would have let hungry. For $35 each you get some iceberg lettuce, bread, a tiny amount of dips, some rice, 2 very small skewers of meat and a... More

Recommended to us and whilst it is a little tricky to find (upstairs in a small laneway) it was a pleasant oasis of tranquility in Manuka. The food was not your average Turkish food, no kebabs or souvlaki here. The eggplant dishes are exquisite. Portions are not generous but when accompanied by their fresh homemade bread was more than sufficient... More

Four of us went here for lunch and should have taken note of the fact that we were the only four people having lunch there that day. We ordered two of the banquets which were for two people each. The Turkish bread rolls were like cold, heavy scones so needless to say most were not eaten. The dips were ok,... More

Went as a group to Alanya for lunch. We ordered the $25 banquet including a complementary bottle of wine. The grilled chicken/ lamb, salad & rice were lovely. I found the Turkish bread rolls a little heavy and would have liked a bit more of a selection than 2 dips. That aside it was a very pleasant meal and one... More

Easter in Canberra- and many places were shut. We found this restaurant online noting that not all the reviews were complimentary, but we did feel like a Middle Eastern dining experience so we took the plunge. We found it very suitable for us -minimal noise, pleasant and attentive service, and helpful advice about our choices. The lamb with creamy eggplant was... More
