A new favourite in Canberra

I did have misgivings about Morks, Thai is not generally something I expect to pay higher prices for. However I was genuinely impressed. I did have misgivings about Morks, Thai is not generally something I expect to pay higher prices for. However I was genuinely impressed. This was no ordinary Thai restaurant. Yes some of the flavours were there but the blend of taste, texture and service were excellent if a bit pricey.

Morks is a great restaurant... if you like salt. Food is modern Thai, the flavours and creative combination of ingredients were excellent. Tip-top, friendly service. Great atmosphere, lovely waterside location. Good wine list. No complaints whatsoever, except that at least half our dishes were way too salty. This is a mistake far too many chefs make. No need here, I'd... More

first time here - the location was lovely and the food very special. Called contemporary thai, the food was not at all typical of the usual thai. Beautiful flavours, perfect amounts of chilli and everything just as tasty as the dish before - beef, chicken, lamb, duck all great dishes, and good for sharing.

Excellent meal at Morks. Surprised by the lamb and pork belly dishes on a Thai menu but they were excellent. Good experience all round. Service, cost, and taste. Recommended and obviously very popular.

Have been wanting to try Morks for a while so was very happy when it was suggested for a farewell/birthday lunch. The restaurant was only half full but as it was a chilly, blustery day there weren’t many people around the foreshore at all. Our waiter was friendly and explained that the dishes were all meant to be shared. We... More

Went here for lunch on the weekend. It was rather quiet on a cold and windy Canberra autumn day so we sat inside by the window. Menu is indeed small, but the drinks menu is comprehensive. Everything on the menu looked pretty good from the description. We ordered the Pork bun and squid with 64c egg. Both were excellent! the... More

This restuarant is certainly considered fine dining rater than your normal Thai restaurant. Location is obviously a big winner for them. I must say I was quite disappointed overall. The menu is small. The servings are tiny. The food is expensive. If you want Thai food there's plenty of other places with traditional Thai. This place is targeted towards people... More

Having eaten at the Florey location I can say the food definitely hasn't changed in quality. It is still superb. Incredibly moist chicken; to die for duck, and the surprise hit of the evening was the pumpkin wontons with their incredible curry. The fit out of the restaurant on the other hand looks like someone went to IKEA trying to... More
