Tea time meal

Our meal at The White Hart was lovely. We were a part of 4 adults. One had the Ham and Eggs, one the Fish and Chips, one had the Chicken Balls etc and I had Duck and Plum Pie. My pie was delicious as was the mashed potato and vegetables. The three thoroughly enjoy their meals to. The chips were... read more

Called in for Sunday lunch. Had run out but we decided to give it a try. Decided on a chicken burger but specifically asked if it was a chicken breast or done in breadcrumbs and was assured it was a chicken breast. My partner had a makeshift Sunday dinner with a chicken breast. The building looks like it's between a... More

Firstly, it looks quite nice from the outside. Inside, a totally different experience. Whilst the staff were friendly, they seems inexperienced. Totally over priced!, it's not clean, and desperately in need of decorating. It was warm, and that's about it really. Sorry, won't be back soon, I don't mind paying £18.00 for a bottle of wine, but not on a... More

returned to this great restaurant for my mothers 80th birthday - at her request . we ate there at our last visit - and when asked where in Newark she would like to be taken - she didn't hesitate to ask for dinner at the white hart . we weren't disappointed - the food was fantastic !

This was our first trip to Newark for lunch and on the outside the pub looked lovely as did the menu boards.. We were offered a table and menu by a nice young man but then it all went down hill. The table, cutlery and glasses were dirty. The food advertised as being homely but it was just adequate. I... More

Me and my Husband John live in Lincoln we go to Newark every month and we always go to this place as its close to the market square and a lovely little place. We're always served by the same little woman ( think she owns the place ) don't think she means any harm but every time we go in... More

The heading gives a very good indicator. Ordered the lamb and mint pie. Did not expect the lamb and mint to be separate. Service was underwhelming and perfunctory. Somewhat dismayed when the pie arrived. Have seen better pies in a chip shop. More appealing and more meat in comparison. Vegetables were ordered and arrived some 5 minutes at least after... More

I have not been in Newark long, but this is one venue I will not be visiting again! Stupidly expensive, dreadful interior and so many choices on the food menu that you get bored reading it! The women's toilets are in need of some serious refurbishment and the venue itself is trying to be so many things that it struggles... More

Very out of pocket and very disappointed, no wonder there are no menus outside, we sat down ordered our drinks not cheap, then looked at the menus thought it looked very expensive for ham rolls, dried out chicken and bacon in a dried out ment to be home made roll?? really. Thought oh well they say served with salad might... More
