Open!

Went in at the end of April and it was very much open although was told inside that the business is up for sale. There have also been some changes to when they accept their loyalty card and have introduced an alternative discount scheme for weekdays. I've visited The Trivet for many years as its... read more

We thought we'd call in for a coffee last week and found it closed, this week there is a For Sale sign in the window so seems like The Trivet will be closed for some time until a new owner is found. Shame because we visit regularly and like the location and coffee served here.

Amazing little place, staff was so helpful and friendly apart from the older woman, was not polite, rude and very loud!

Stopped off in Newark with my Mum and sister on the way to Leeds for the weekend. Unfamiliar with the area, we wandered around the town, down a little lane and found The Trivet. We only wanted something light so all of us had muffins. I had an egg and bacon one,the other two were bacon and mushroom and bacon. They... More

I popped in for breakfast whilst waiting for the bank to open after previously eating at the owner's first class restaurant several times. Ordered a pot of tea and eggs Benedict and it was HUGE. Loads of mushrooms, three poached eggs, cheese and some bread stuff (ciabatta?) all very nicely garnished with some green stuff (dunno what it's called but... More

A brief review but I had a lunchtime gap in my schedule and decided to eat here on the recommendation of a friend. At first I was the only customer so I decided on a coffee. Freshly made Illy coffee was soon in front of me and delivered by a very pleasant and attentive waitress. Eventually I decided on carrot... More

My wife and I were disappointed about The Lounge@14 closing down, having contacted the owner, Alison, she was generous enough to do me a deal at her cafe, Trivet@12. The venue is tucked off the hustle and bustle of Market Square and is cute, well appointed building. The food was perfect for lunch, and was delivered with fabulous presentation and... More

Whenever we visit Newark, we make a beeline for the Trivet on Chain Lane for lunch. We have never been disappointed; the food is always delicious, (from an interesting menu), freshly prepared, and reasonably priced, the coffee is quite simply the best around, and the staff - from Rose, through to the newer younger staff (sorry Rose) - are all...
