Dad's pick

Dad wanted to go out for lunch and chose the Prince Rupert; as the fish and chips are apparently very good. Dad was telling me that a farmer owns the pub and so the meat is sourced from him. The Prince rupert is what we would describe as a country pub in a town. It is very pretty inside with a lovely warm and friendly atmosphere. You can not fault this place. Live music on sundays, amazing Sunday roasts, authentic Italian pizzas, big juicy burgers.... I could go on and on...haha.Just fab

The Prince Rupert is a very nice ale house and meeting place. We called in yesterday (Friday) for a drink and something to eat. We ordered fish pie, mostly I have to say because it was described as being in a cider and tarragon sauce, I love tarragon.....I have never been so disappointed. The fish pie was not seasoned at... a nice old pub that has a lot going for it, some nice little rooms to explore well worth a visit, even though we had to wait a while at the bar as they was only one person serving.

When choosing a pub to in Newark you are a bit, well, spoiled for choice to say the least. so why choose the Rupert? Well first impressions from the moment you enter are that this place is a bit different, traditional decor and a warm, cosy set of rooms invites you in to stay. As you approach the bar you'll... This charming pub has a brilliant atmosphere The food was very tasty - we had pizza but all of it looked amazing This is the sort of place you could earlier sit and relax away an afternoon/evening Such a friendly environment and a building that has so much history.

There's a good choice of pubs and restaurants in Newark and most of a high standard so it's not often we diversify from the tried and tested. However, on a recent visit after hearing good reports we thought we'd check out the Prince Rupert for a change. A fascinating building with some interesting decor to check out even before you... This place serves really good pub food. It is dog friendly ( as long as they are properly behaved) has a great selection of beers and has a good atmosphere.
