I have been here numerous times and have enjoyed the ambiance - There are chickens running around and everything is fresh. However, I am not sure if I will go back just because of a vibe I have got of late. Lately, it has seemed very rushed and communication seems lacking. Last time I informed a server I had not... We were on the island recently for 3 days and stayed in Brentwood Bay... we visited The Roost every single day! Had sandwiches one day, breakfast the next, and bought a loaf of chipotle bleu cheese bread the last day on our way home. Everything that we tried was delicious! The place is really neat, has a country kitchen feel,... More

We have been to the Roost twice now and just love it! We have not been able to get there for their cinnamon buns yet but have been told they are to die for. We've had sandwiches and the pot pies. On this visit they were packed and we had to sit in "the bus". Yes they have taken an... More

We tried this restaurant after reading about online. We went for lunch on a Saturday. It was fairly busy but we were able to get seats on 'the bus'. There is a cute old school bus parked beside the restaurant that offers extra seating. We had soup sandwiches and salads...then we indulged in some sweets....everyone loved their food.

The Roost is a must for lunch or coffee!! If you're visiting the Saanich Peninsula this would be the place and if you're not, it would still be the place! We buy our specialty breads here (the sourdough is the best!) and we come for coffee whenever we can. It's usually busy so timing is a factor, especially around morning... More

Stop here about once a month for lunch or a coffee & pastry. The meatloaf andwich on chees & onion bread is scrumptious!! Can be very busy at noon and on weekend mornings.

We tend to utilize the Roost at least once a week. It's usually en route for us, one way or another, but we have been known to actually drive out of the way to go here. They do the BEST sandwiches. Even their egg sandwich (who really orders egg sandwiches???? Besides my husband) is quite tasty. Everything is fresh made... More

The Roost is a great place for a designer coffee, a fresh luncheon dish with locally grown produce and on-the-premises bread, rolls and sweet goods. Service is quick and courteous. This is probably the busiest coffee/lunch place in town and that speaks of the growing reputation that the spot has developed among the locals. The one problem is seating capacity.... More

The Roost is completely unique in its style. You can sit inside the bakery, outside at picnic tables, or on the "Bus". The baking is extraordinary and sells out quickly. Lunches - Soup & Sandwiches - are fresh and hearty! Love it!
