Amazing food of Umbria!

Very good typical Umbrian food and kind service. During summer it's possible to eat outdoor too...really suggestive (apart from some insects flying around), but also the interior is nice. Arrived to Taverna quite early (8pm) in comparison to the typical Italian diners, so we were lucky to get attentive service right away. Our waiter was so sweet. He was confident in the best dish + wine pairing... and recommended a Tuscan Sangiovese with the most AMAZING antipasti of truffled eggs, honey cheese, prosciutto / melon, and olive spread croutons... An amazing taverna with delicious food. Between 2 we shared an antipasto, salad, plate of pasta and tiramisu and were fat and very happy! Cannot wait to fly out of Perugia soon to stay at Locanda Paradiso and eat here again!

It's a little bit lost in the countryside but we'll worth the hunt! The food was fantastic and the staff were lovely and cheerful. We were a group of 10 with 5 children and they were very accommodating. I really recommend the gnocchi with red wine sauce and smoked cheese. It's amazing!

Heed the warning re: portions. Huge for Italy. But don't be shy about asking for to-go boxes or sharing every dish. Chef-owner just wants you to enjoy. Lamb shoulder outstanding, as were the two veal dishes we tried. (We dined two consecutive eves.) Orso is a gem in the middle of farm country. Pastas & grilled veggies super. Staff most... More

The best meal ever. High on top of the hill, peacefull and beautifull place to enjoy a fenomenal lunch or dinner. True italian kichen, made with feeling. Best tiramisu ever. Umbrian kichen on its best. Truffels used in a stylish way. I left my heart in dell´Orso. Highly reccomended by me :)

We had a lovely dinner in their al fresco dining area. The food was delicious and wine excellent and very reasonably priced (a Sagrantino di Montefalco for 18 EUR) BUT be warned as the helpings are enormous! Even sharing the antipasto della casa and then one plate of pasta each meant that by the time the main courses arrived we... More

If we ever return to this region, we undoubtedly return to this place. It had been recommended by the owner of our Agriturismo, and we didn't regret following his advice for a minute. We enjoyed a 4 course dinner menu with an excellent Montefalco Sagrantino (great Umbrian wine) for a very reasonable price. Make sure to have a reservation, since... More

This place was recommended to us by the owner of the Agriturismo we were staying in. I live in Italy so I know of some great places to eat, but it's difficult to pick the right spot when traveling so it's usually wise to ask the locals. In this case, it really paid off. The location had a great panoramic... More

I visited for dinner in October 2012 . It was excellent and near my wonderful accomodation at Castel D'Arno .The chef owner was very friendly . You should book as it is popular with locals - always a good sign !
