Lovely secluded location. Really nice beer, very friendly staff but be warned doesn't take card payments!

Having seen the reviews about this place and as we were in the area we decided to give it a try. In fact we went twice in a week, first time for a beer after a walk along the coastal path. The place certainly has rustic charm but the bar service is awful, could be down to lack of space... More

Walked to this pub from Craster about a 4 mile walk along the Northumberland Coastal Path. It was a very busy Sunday lunchtime at the beginning of half term but we managed to find a seat indoors after a short wait. Unfortunately on the day of our visit there was no crab available on the menu. The ale brewed on... More

The Ship is considered to be something of a destination in Northumberland, for its micro-brewery real ales and the quality of its food. We’d been disappointed not to get a table on a previous visit to the area, so we made sure we booked well in advance on this occasion. If you’re planning to visit during a GMT time of... More

basic little pub but great crab sandwiches after our fantastic walk along the beach. Oh and my husband says their real ale brewed on the premises is fab!!

Found this pub at the very end of the coast road , choice was the sea or the pub!! In October choice was definitely pub !! Tucked away in the corner of a row of properties . Looked old from the outside and only a small place , but walk in side and it casts you back a few years... More

Nice place to have lunch if walking this section of the Northumberland coast, and would recommend sitting outside if the weather is kind enough. Great for those who like a 'real' pint from the on-site micro brewery.

Park your car in the public car park just up from the beach, (parking by the pub is limited to residents only), and it's a short walk to the Ship. Embleton Bay has a wide, sandy beach with the ruin of Dunstanbrugh Castle visible about 2 miles away, and is certainly one of the most atttractive bays in Northumbria, if... More

Our first official 'walk' together from Craster to Newton The Ship and it's famous crab was beckoning, can you imagine my poor big face when my partner disclosed the door sign 'crab finished fore to today' arrrhhhhhhhhhhhhh! So we settled for toasties, crisps and real ale stout. One word of warning this is also dog walking country so The Ship... More

Great place to call into if you are walking along the coast between Embleton and Beadnell. Called in on a couple of occasions whilst on holiday in October. Tried a pint of Squid Ink and Sea coal as I love stouts. Both of these are ales from their own micro brewery and they were excellent
