I had a pint of beer brewed there and my wife had a very nice coffee. The service was very good and the quality of the drinks excellent.

While on holiday in Northumberland we visited the Ship twice. It is in a beautiful setting in a square of old cottages by a sheltered bay. Very picturesque! The lawn in front of the pub is large and sheltered and overlooks the bay and is a lovely place for a pint and some food. I didn't eat there, but the... More

Been to this pub for lunch twice now, both times while walking from Craster to Low Newton before turning and walking back again.(about 6miles) the lunch menu is simple but the food is served quickly and is very tasty. The times I have been in its been really busy but if you want to sit inside, tables come up relatively quickly.... More

We walked from Beadnell and waited a few minutes for a table outside, which was cleared fairly promptly once we sat down. We got a round of drinks, including the excellent local brew and ordered our food (all sandwiches). The food came quite quickly and was all freshly prepared simple fare, that was tasty. Tried another local brew which was... More

We have decided the reason the Ship Inn is so popular is because they have no competition. We noticed on approaching the pub that almost all the tables had not been cleared and, maybe it was a bad day for the chef, but there was masses of food left on the plates, all of which looked inedible - thankfully we... We stopped here for coffee on our first day in Northumberland whilst "doing" the coastal drive - we were having a coffee stop until one cousin spotted the local beer which he couldn't resist and thoroughly enjoyed whilst the remaining three enjoyed the coffee. The pub is situated in the corner of an open rectangle of fisherman cottages - very... More

Perfectly situated for a quaint little spot of lunch whilst out walking. Set in the black corner of a pretty square of small cottages, the pub is well sheltered for outside eating and drinking in most weathers. The food surprised us for its good quality and reasonable prices. We shared a modest plate if toasties and a bowl of sausage... More

We walked to The Ship along the coast path and had a wonderful platter of fish. Very simply presented and wonderfully fresh. We sat outside in the sun with a fantastic view of the sea surrounded by families and dogs, all of us enjoying our food and beer. The menu is short and interesting with something for everyone. And the... More
