A Gem

We had heard about the Ship and it didn't disappoint, lovely setting and great beers. We didn't eat but the food looked great. You can't park close to the Ship but there is parking just before you get to Low Newton and then it's a short walk. You can drive down to the pub to drop folk off, you... read more

We returned to The Ship for lunch on a recent holiday having been unable to get a table the first time & have mixed feelings about this pub. It has the potential to be great but doesn't quite make the effort beyond being a bit of a tourist attraction. The location is idyllic & the atmosphere terrific. The micro-brewery produces... More

This is a beautiful part of the Northumberland coast and is a great place for a walk. And after your walk The Ship is a good place to refuel. It's a busy place though with only a very small bar so be prepared to wait to order your pint (of lovely local brew). The lunchtime menu is limited - lots... More

While on our travels we decided to have lunch here as heard good things. We weren't disappointed. Hubby and I had the special, lamb kofta with salad and pitta. Absolutely gorgeous. Mom had a ham n cheese toastie. Also excellent quality and super tasty. Dog friendly and we loved it.

after a long sunny walk on this great beach with views to one side of Dunstanburgh Castle, we made our way to this lovely village green Pub surrounded on both sides by lovely old atmospheric fisherman cottages - painted white to catch the amazing light that can only be found so close to the water. Serving good local beers (... More

Visited here on Saturday with a friend and 6 month old puppy. This place is so dog friendly with water bowls outside and dogs allowed inside. The crab sandwiches must have half a pound of crab meat in them and are to die for! Lots of walkers frequenting and people so friendly stopping to chat. Beautiful views of the beach,... More

Lovely little pub in the corner of the village green with fantastic views of the beautiful Northumberland coastline. Friendly staff, fantastic crab sandwiches would highly recommend a visit.

We enjoyed our kipper fishcake lunch sitting in the pretty square of fishermen's cottages by the beach at Low Newton. It was busy however & a couple of things from the menu had run out.

Just that little bit different. Good beer / lager and a nice freshly prepared lunch. Crab & salad stottie was very good. Stottie, a thick slab of a bread-like substance must be a local delicacy ...... not sure it doesn't takeover the dish though. Very busy and popular. Service behind the bar was welcoming ..... waitressing staff less engaging. Super... More

We arrived too late for lunch which was a pity as on a bank holiday weekend I thought they might have served all day. So we had some cake and tea. Which was fine. Very popular, so best to come early as not many tables.
