Definitely worth a trip out to this place. Fine French dining in relaxed atmosphere. We were welcomed by Jacqueline, the patron, and had a lovely meal. It’s pricy in relation to other Mauritian restaurants but about the same price as a Frankie and Benny’s in...the UK! All the food was lovely and served impeccably. We were given amuse-bouche of cheese samosas and prawn skewers as well as baskets of freshly baked bread rolls to start. The beef cheeks were melt in the mouth; the lamb shank with tagliatelle was huge and fell off the bone as it should; fillet steak was as expected and fish of the day was a lovely red snapper. Desserts of a grand marnier soufflé - so fluffy; an off-menu chocolate one as well; an oozing chocolate cake plus a souvenir d’helene were rounded off with some chocolates and biscuits. £120 for 4 of us with 3 bottles of waterMore

This is the place to stay if you want to be away from it all yet close to everything Normandy has to offer. Approximately an hour and a half from St Malo, Cherbourg or Caen. It is situated in the hamlet of Montpinchon. This property...is a converted barn. It is one of the most well equipped places I have ever stayed at. There is space for outdoor dining including barbecue. Children of all ages are catered for too. One bedroom is set up as a nursery with a crib and high chair. A box of toys filled to the brim awaits the very young. An outdoor play area is also available. Older children can play dvds and the property owners will even teach them to play boules. There are board games for inclement days. I highly recommend this property wholeheartedly.More

We visited this restaurant while on vacation in Mauritius. As we have a restaurant with the same name in Belgium we read the reviews and found that it was worth to make a trip from the east-coast to Floreal to this wonderful restaurant. This restaurant is...located in a more upscale region and when you enter the premisses you feel the grandeur of this place. We were greeted by a friendly and attentive staff. The atmosphere was of pure class and with a touch of explicite elegance. We went for a glass of champagne and some very, very delicious dishes.... served with style and with a top notch service. The lady of the house 'Madame Dalais' came to great the customers and we were greated and treated as celebreties. Thank you to the whole team to make our evening so special and worthwhile to make the trip from Poste Lafayette to Floreal. Peter & Kristel from BelgiumMore

We were invited for a gathering with 20 friends at La Clef des Champs to bid farewell to a fellow. We were welcomed by Mrs Jacqueline Dalais the lady who owns this lovely place. Jacqueline is a connoisseur and a Cordon Bleu. We had drinks...on the terrace and afterwards we were directed to the restaurant where a big table was set with a nice decor. We had a selected menu with vegetarian and non vegetarian menus. As we were a group it was much better to have a selected menu. The food is more continental and we had a yummy tomato soup, palm heart salad with salmon, vegetable cake, green leafy vegetables, chicken and shrimps accompanied with rice and a selection of home made breads with local chilli paste on the side. The food was delicious and prepared with the best ingredients. The food doesn't leave the kitchen without Jacqueline has tasted it and given her go ahead. During dinner wine and other drinks were served according to guests likes. The dessert followed and it was a delicious chocolate cake accompanied with an ice cream. After some time they also brought an assortment of pastries and our friends were thrilled with the variety and tasty food. Coffee and infusion are served as digestif. The waiters are well trained and courteous and the service is excellent. We had a great evening and wish to thank Jacqueline and her team and wish them much success. I would highly recommend visitors to have a meal there. It is a chic and beautiful place with good food. The price is quite high compared to other places but you won't regret it as the food is soooooo good. Attached the vegetable cake photo. Thank you to all and I wish our fellow the best of luck.More

We have visited 100's of restaurants worldwide as part of our hobby while visiting countries, to be honest La Clef des champ was among the best from service to food.We could not find our way to the restaurant, Dev a very polite gentleman who work...there guided us over phone so nicely and he looked after us from arrival to departure. We learn about the owner Mrs Dalais from Dev, as if we were given his biography and later google search, what a living legend when we read about her He explained us the menu so nicely and in details as if he is the Chef and we got exactly of what we were explained. We strongly recommend anyone visiting Mauritius to at least try their food once. By the way, unfortunately we came to know about the restaurant just when we were about to leave, otherwise we would have been their several times. Congratulation to you all at La Clef des champ teamMore

What an amazing dinner we had! We actually reserved this saturday 13 February for my birthday but we were very surprised when we got there. We were expecting an a la carte dinner yet since it was Valentine's day they proposed a special package! They...arranged the table setting in a very personalised way. We a printed card with your Mr and Mrs X, decoration for the occasion (hearts, beads, candle, rose..) The menu was as expected; delicious. Jacqueline Dalais has the reputation of being one of the best in Mauritius and we were not disappointed at all. Since it was a set menu for Valentine's day it was served around the theme. The food was irreproachable besides maybe the main course which i chose, i had salmon and prawn and the prawn(batter) was a bit too salty to my taste. However we were kinda satisfied with the dinner overall and my husband said we should come back more often if possible. They even thought of hiring a caricaturist for the event and we were gifted our portrait to save the memory. A natural red rose was offered to all the ladies dining in the room and a handmade card+pencil was available on the table for the couples to write some nice words. The menu proposed was worth the money paid although we can't suggest on the prices of the dishes if taken à la carte.More
