I ordered a veggie sandwich with fries and got a chicken one. After waiting almost 30 mins I recieved the right one, my boyfriend had already finished his meal. The waiter had forgot the fries. When he brought them over, they clearly were leftovers from the kitchen, all soggy. The waiter did not apologize even once. Not a good experience.

good location, clean corner cafe/restaurant. A bit tourist-priced but friendly and comfortable for lap-toppers, nothing gourmet, light lunch with coffee almost $20 usd for 2 ppl.- considering the patchwork that is the town of Palenque, Cafe de Yara is a good option to come in from the rain.

Cafe de Yara is located a little off Palenque's city centre. It's a small cafe with a wide range of food and coffee. To start with the coffee: It's delicious and ecological - which isn't generally common for the stuff they sell in touristy areas. The food: Is very good and Cafe de Yara offers lots of local specialties, the... More

We have dined here many times and always enjoy the food. The coffee is delicious and they sell the beans by the kilo in the adjacent shop. It is a nice meal at a reasonable price, and although the portions are not overly large, you will leave full and satified. They serve complimentary chips and salsa, and some meals include soup... I had coffee here a few times and breakfast twice. The location is nice and the seating is great, partially outdoor with some good people watching opportunities. The coffee was good, but not amazing. The food was good, but a little pricey (but it is Palenque, so what can you expect). The service was good too. They have WiFi which... More

We were told that this cafe/restaurant was worth going to. Well we went and both were sick with diarrhoea within 4 hours! The waiter was surly, the ambience poor (we were the only ones in there), and the meal (chicken) was greasy. I am sure there are other better restaurants in Palenque.

Coffee was fine but staff quite curt and felt like we were under pressure to leave as soon as we finished our drinks.

We went to this place during our stay in Palenque. The restaurant is located near the Zocalo. It is nice furnished, clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Though it seems a bit touristy, as you can see in the menue, we were very satisfied. The host offers a good mix between Mexican, American and European Cuisine. The... More

In our travel agency we got recommended this place and it was worth. We liked the colourful walls and the whole ambiente. We had coffee at the first time and at the second breakfest. The coffee is top end. But the service is a bit slow and forgetful. We order two breakfast menus. I got mines but my boyfriend got... More
