Nice breakfast

We choose this place after the recommendation in Lonely Planet. It's a nice place for breakfast with good prices. Service is very quick and the design is cute :)

Horrible place. Beware, in places like Mexico with good Coffee beans, of places like Café de Yara. They do not know anything about coffee (NADA). They are still serving 1980s version of a Mexican Cappuccino (Horrible expresso + Condensated and overheated milk + Cinnamon on top + in a glass). In general, stay away from places like this in Mexico... More

The service was awful. We stayed a little bit longer on the wifi to sort our trip out. The place was empty. We were kind of forced to leave and they also turned the wifi off. Kind of ridiculous...

We stopped into Café de Yara after our visit to the Palenque ruins and ordered smoothies. They were delicious and reasonably priced. This restaurant is very clean in appearance and the staff is very friendly. I will look for it the next time I travel to Palenque.

I have sat down with my gf to have a late lunch. I have orderes a soup and pancakes and she has orderes spaghetti carbonara. Since the place was totay empty waiter has arrived with the soup and spaghetti 2 minutes after ordering. Spaghetti looked totally bad, warmed up with meat on top of a strange colour. I have asked... if you eat a town like we do, you can pick out the restaurants that are catered to tourists, this is one that fits into that category, the prices are higher than local places offering a little more real food, the decor is more hip than some others and they boast organic coffee, since we were the only ones in... I ordered a veggie sandwich with fries and got a chicken one. After waiting almost 30 mins I recieved the right one, my boyfriend had already finished his meal. The waiter had forgot the fries. When he brought them over, they clearly were leftovers from the kitchen, all soggy. The waiter did not apologize even once. Not a good experience.

good location, clean corner cafe/restaurant. A bit tourist-priced but friendly and comfortable for lap-toppers, nothing gourmet, light lunch with coffee almost $20 usd for 2 ppl.- considering the patchwork that is the town of Palenque, Cafe de Yara is a good option to come in from the rain.

Cafe de Yara is located a little off Palenque's city centre. It's a small cafe with a wide range of food and coffee. To start with the coffee: It's delicious and ecological - which isn't generally common for the stuff they sell in touristy areas. The food: Is very good and Cafe de Yara offers lots of local specialties, the... More

We have dined here many times and always enjoy the food. The coffee is delicious and they sell the beans by the kilo in the adjacent shop. It is a nice meal at a reasonable price, and although the portions are not overly large, you will leave full and satified. They serve complimentary chips and salsa, and some meals include soup...
