We enjoyed delicious sweet potato and coconut soup with homemade bread, and equally delicious homemade coffee and walnut cake. Tea was served in lovely bone china cups, poured from beautiful teapots. The staff were friendly and it was well worth the diversion before we returned to the motorway. Really appreciated the history of this lovely thatched listed building

Interesting – all the way from Scotland and the first stop is Teacake – who said we just catered for the local community. Thank you for a perfect review and look forward to your next sojourn in the south. More

Teacake is a little off the beaten track of the main roads, but well worth finding for a light lunch, snack or traditional afternoon tea (reservation only) in the peace and quiet of Shepreth. Housed in a little thatched cottage it’s charming and welcoming - even if that olde worlde charm can be a tripping and head banging obstacle course... More

It was kind of you to post your review and indeed it was good to read you enjoyed your visit. Sorry about the need to request the additional hot water for your Earl Grey. I guess in the ideal world we would always provide it with the tea, however nine times out of ten it never gets used other than... More

Popped in following a visit to a local nature reserve. The selection of sandwiches are interesting, varied and tasty. Reasonably priced and good service from the staff. Please be aware that when we visited they do not accept credit cards - cash only, unless this has changed.

Thank you for reviewing Teacake and promoting our local countryside. There are a number of local walks and the Nature Reserve at Fowlmere, makes exercise enjoyable and interesting. Prior to starting Teacake we had always thought a walk in the countryside followed by a visit to a tearoom would be idyllic, just one of the reasons we set the business... More

Our favourite tearoom and lovely garden! Ian chose this delightful garden to get down on one knee and propose to me! The owners were very helpful and kind, even putting a vase of their home grown roses on our table! Needless to say..... I said "Yes"!

Thank you Ian and Yvonne for choosing Teacake for such a special occasion. Who knows you may well have started a trend! This and being listed as your favourite tearoom is a real honour, sadly think we are too small to help with the wedding reception. Wishing you many years of happily married life. More

We popped in for a coffee and cake on a beautiful sunny afternoon. The service was very friendly and I was persuaded to buy a loose leave tea with the offer of a builders tea for free if I didn't like it- not that it was required! The Raspberry, Almond and Elderflower gluten free cake was delicious and we enjoyed... More

We had very nice afternoon tea here for my birthday - excellent selection of sandwiches and cakes, and extensive choice of teas. The personal touches and service by the owners made it extra special. I look forward to returning and sitting in the garden for lunch or coffee and cake again.

Took my elderly mother here as a friend had recommended it, lovely tea, lovely coffee, the cake was so lovely we bought more to take home. The staff could not have been more charming. Apparently the lunch choices are great too.

We have been here many many many times and never been disappointed! The cakes are divine, hot drinks are varied and always top notch, soups warming, filling and delicious, ambience faultless - how do they do it? Thanks for the kind review. How do we do it? Well we don’t it is you; our supportive customers that help us succeed. What we really appreciate is your forbearance on occasions when we are busy. We sometimes wish the building was a bit larger to accommodate more staff but then it might lose its ambience. Thank you for your... More

Out for the morning visiting Docwra gardens we decided to have tea/coffee and a bite to eat at the Teacake in Shepworth. Thank you for your benevolent review and delighted to read you enjoyed your “metal teapot free” visit to Teacake. Just love the idea of being preserved as a traditional tearoom, the building is listed and now you have kindly preserved us on TripAdvisor! More
