EXCELLENT

Out for the morning visiting Docwra gardens we decided to have tea/coffee and a bite to eat at the Teacake in Shepworth. These small, welcoming tea rooms are a joy to find and must be preserved and an English tradition. Lovely tea served in proper bone china cups from a china teapot and a delicious... read more

Thank you for your benevolent review and delighted to read you enjoyed your “metal teapot free” visit to Teacake. Just love the idea of being preserved as a traditional tearoom, the building is listed and now you have kindly preserved us on TripAdvisor! More

Perfect place to stop off in the countryside on the way to or from London from Cambridge. The enjoyable food was made even better by the pleasant house and staff. Look forward to returning. Would make a great stop for a Saturday bike ride too.

Our sleepy little village is a bit surprising as a stop off point between London and Cambridge. Two open gardens, Docwras Manor and the Crossing House gardens, RSPB reserve at Fowlmere and the Shepreth Wildlife Park can all be combined with a visit to Teacake. Thank you for your kind words and pleased you enjoyed your visit, look forward to... More

Our train had been delayed and we were so hungry, so we went to find a place to eat and we came across 'The Teacake'. My cousin was in crutches and you were all so nice and helpful getting her to her seat. The cake was amazing! All the drinks we had were so nice and my nan said that... More

We found this lovely place via Trip Advisor. After ordering our food I realized I had forgotten to bring any cash or bank cards and they were very kind and found a way to resolve the situation. The home-made cake, scone and teacake we had were all very lovely, the atmosphere and surrounds were pleasant and relaxing, and the staff... More

Aron, running a Teashop offers all sorts of challenges and at Teacake we try to resolve most of them! It is so encouraging to receive such a positive review on our small business, thank you. Look forward to see you both again. More

We were cycling through the Cambridgeshire countryside and ended up going a bit further than we intended... my wife is pregnant and really needed somewhere to stop for a bit. We found Teacake and could not possibly have been made to feel more relaxed and welcomed! The food and drinks were excellent, and the setting is really very nice. The... More

We went there today based upon reviews on here - unfortunately my youngest daughter proceeded to vomit once our order arrived! The people there could not have been nicer and their tea and tiffin were excellent ; we will definitely go back and hopefully spend longer than 10 minutes.

Delighted that your visit was prompted by our tripadvisor reviews but sorry you could not stay for long, due to your young daughter being unwell. Can a visit to Teacake cause over excitement?! With hope your next visit will be more relaxing and thank you for your kind review. More

Three of us went to this teashop on a Friday at around 3pm. The tea shop is in a wonderful period cottage dating from 1660 and is full of character. I believe they do a whole range of food but we had tea, cappuchino, a slice of homemade tiffin and two toasted teacakes. All the food and drink we had... More

Dear Anne H Due to our limited space we don’t advertise much other than on the web. Accordingly it is fun to read a great review from a customer who comes across us by chance. Delighted you enjoyed your visit to Teacake and thank you for going to the trouble of detailing so much about our business. More

Morris & Christine are excellent hosts of their little tearoom 'Teacake' which offers high quality coffee and a large selection of teas at very reasonable prices. They support local suppliers where possible to provide them with fresh breads, honey, mustard, apple juice, meat, vegetables & a range of other delicacies. The menu offering is made fresh on the premises including... More
