Excellent walking pub

We called in midway through a long walk and it felt a really welcoming place to arrive, the garden is amazing with plenty of well spaced tables, fortunately it was warm enough to sit out outside. The menu looked really good and our meals arrived very promptly, although as lunchtime wore on I am... read more

Sunday lunch was straight forward and very good. Pie and roast dinner were simple, un-fussy but extremely well done. We then went out side for beers and the view. Wonderful all round.

This is by far one of the loveliest pub gardens for a sunny afternoon but the ploughmans lunch was very overpriced at nearly £10. For that you'd expect something a bit special, not just a smallish lump of cheese, some salad, coleslaw, and three bits of French stick. Tsk...

Outstanding location looking out over the south downs, amazing garden and pub full of character and charm. This pub produces consistently excellent food, run by very friendly staff and a landlady who makes sure that perfection is the result. The small beamed pub has a roaring fire that is always alight and ensures that the warmth radiated is felt by... More

We were lucky enough to return to this beautiful part of England and popped into the Three Horseshoes for lunch. Very tasty and quick polite service. Welcoming log fire burning away and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend anyone who is close to this pub and make time to enjoy a meal here. Hope we will return one day again.

Ate dinner here on a freezing winter's night. The pub is quintessentially English with flag stone floors, timbered walls, scrubbed oak tables and a roaring log fire. ( complete with slumbering Black Labrador.) - a more formal dining room adjoined. Everyone's traditional dream English pub! The atmosphere was lovely and the welcome warm - The menu is displayed on a... More
