Description: TRATTORIA at Tredethy House serves good, uncomplicated food based on Italian regional recipes. In the best tradition of the Italian trattoria, the principle is simple: the best seasonal, organic and local ingredients, and some gourmet Italian staples, like the creamy and freshest buffalo mozzarella, the best single estates extra virgin olive oils, prime cured meats for our classic antipasti and Taggiasche olives from Liguria to name a few. Handmade pasta, plus the award winning produce Cornwall has to offer, local meat and the best fish from our local fishermen.. Our simple cooking skills do the rest, and the relaxed atmosphere of the TRATTORIA is the right environment to enjoy the food.TRATTORIA is now open seasonally Friday and Saturday evenings and we welcome party bookings on other evenings. Being a birthday party, an informal and intimate evening out with friends or a special day, TRATTORIA can offer the perfect combination of a magical location, an easy atmosphere, simple food and excellent value. The wine list is is small, perfectly formed and offers some of the best organic wines.

We travelled from Truro to the Trattoria at Tredethy House for a meal because we love simple, authentic Italian food. The setting is lovely, the ambience relaxed and casual and the food delicious. Next time I think we will make a night of it and book a meal and a room so that we can share a bottle of wine.

We have been at Trattoria every time we go to Cornwall and we will always go back for a delicious fresh a-la-carte menu and the lovely company of chef and owner Marco!

It was not clear when this restaurant opened at all, even though we were residents. There was a limited menu and no provision for children.

I find salad boring, so was not prepared for the taste experience of my first course of Insalata di Pomodoro, but these multi colured jewels were delicious! We enjoyed a truly tasty, simply cooked meal, evidently created with real love. A small menu often boasts carefully chosen and well cooked ingedients. This small menu broadcasts that message loudly!

A taste of old Scicily in the heart of old Cornwall. A real Italian family ambiance. The taste tells you that this is very freshest of locally sourced produce cooked with the love & attention that can only come from a chef dedicated to pleasing friends and family. Mama must be somewhere (if not in person) in that kitchen. Fantastico!

My partner and I visited the Trattoria on the final night of a week's stay in the area and were treated to some of the best home cooked Italian food we've ever had. At £22 for three courses excluding drinks this seemed like incredible value. The restaurant is only open two nights a week at present and is contained within... More
