This is now a hotel, recently renovated and extended from a public house with function rooms. It's in the beautiful Peak District, which I'm happy to say we have the pleasure of living in. So today we booked a table for 2 at 7.30pm. This was our first visit to the Hotel/restaurant since it's renovation. First Impression: Classical decor, clean,... More

My wife and I stayed at The Peak Edge hotel for a night which was excellent and booked a table in the Bistro intending on having a Sunday dinner. The bistro itself was lovely with an open fire. We were shown to our table and we ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio at over £18 which is way too expensive... More

Oddly nouvelle cuisine for a nice cosy pub feel. Not loving any of the weird offerings. Cheeseboard and wine was fab and the waiting staff were also lovely and professional. The specials board was steak and onion rings. The a la carte was snail caviar and sushi. Not worth the £££££. Weird setting/menu mismatch.

My wife and I had stayed at the Peek Edge Red Lion Hotel a few years ago and found the accomodation and the food in the attached Pub & Bistro to be of a very high standard. We returned last November (2013) with friends (on our recommendation) to find the Hotel remained excellent but that standards in the restaurant had... More

We booked a table of six for the family, and had a lovely evening with good food and attentive service. My sons were impressed by the cigar desserts highly recommended.

My husband and I booked in for the seafood festival expecting a real treat! The food was ok but really over priced. The venue is nice and clean. What really let it down was the service and attention to detail. 1. I asked what something was on the menu and the comment I received was "I don't know it's something... More

Very nice bistro with very warm friendly atmosphere, the food was outstanding, very reasonable prices too for the ambience that you receive and how special the staff make you feel, what a credit the staff are to this establishment. Highly recommended and thank you for a special time

This was our second visit to The Red Lion. The first time was a little rushed, but gave a good overall impression. This time, by chance, it was their seafood festival. Ideal for us, and executed excellently at reasonable prices. My oysters, boullabaise, and chocolate cigar were all memorable for the right reasons. I really would recommend this place for... More

my Godmother took me for Sunday lunch to the Red Lion. With out much advise from staff on what was on offer, we chose from the menu. My starter was unpleasant my Godmothers was ordinary. My main course was lamb shank with mash and carrots (no other veg), my Godmothers roast pork dinner (stacked high) looked impressive, though the meat... More
