We went there to see what the food was like before making decision for where to take my husband, family and friends for birthday bash. For a restaurant with Marco Pierre White connection, one would expect if not an excellent place to eat, at least good but it turned out to be a somewhat bistro eating place. Very disappointed indeed.... More

Not as expensive as you'll expect from a Marco Pierre W. restaurant. beautiful quality and rather large servings. A comprehensive list of wines is also available.

This was great value - it was a Living Social deal. We paid £179 for 2 nights B&B plus dinner in the Pear tree on the first night and the Rudloe Arms the second night. We had a nice time but the service was a bit odd at times. For example, my boyfriend went to the bar and got himself... More

Just because a restaurant carries the name of a famous (celebrity) chef - in this case Marco Pierre White, doesn't mean you are going to get a great experience. The location of this pretty pub is nice with what could be beautiful gardens full of guess what? Peat Trees! However the lawns were overgrown and made the place looked uncared... More

Well Marco, this is a lovely restaurant/bar in a lovely quiet and peaceful location and your staff are well trained and attentive but...... We loved the starters, different pates with fresh bread and a fantastic salad accompaniment that came compliments of the chef. I ordered battered haddock and my wife had the chicken. My portion of fish was ginormous on... More

The waiter was extremely helpful friendly warm and welcoming . Really loved the layout of the restraunt with wide tressle tables set for two, great privacy and a feel of... More

Where to start? This beautiful old pub around 3 miles away from PMW Rudloe Arms was our destination for our second night of the LS break. If you are staying at the Rudloe and opt to leave the car behind & take a cab be prepared for a very salty taxi fare! We were charged Sunday rate 2 on the outward... More

We really enjoyed our meal at The Pear Tree. Lovely salad to start and great steak and chicken. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Would have to agree about the grass though. Such a pretty garden needs looking after. Will be returning!

Found this place by accident, exceptionally friendly place, beautifully designed and staff had time to chat. Reasonable. Choice of food in restaurant but vegetables were extra. Pear trees planted in the garden and lots of cartoons on walls but did not mean much without knowing relevant historical information. Would have loved to stay will do next time,

Beautiful setting, lovely food and great accommodation. We loved the huge wet room with 2 showers! The food was excellent but the menu a little limited. Friendly service and the homemade waffles for breakfast were to die for.
