After being closed for over a year The Pear Tree Inn has been carefully restored as a farmhouse kitchen with bar & rooms. It has a relaxed & rustic appeal to the locally sourced menu & reclaimed quirky decor.

An old stone build farmhouse with rug strewn flagstones & reclaimed timber flooring. It features worn wooden tables with mismatched furniture and linen napkins. The Pear Tree Inn will showcase the best local suppliers with a menu guided by the seasons. It also offers overnight guests eight contemporary individually decorated rooms split between the Inn & a beautifully converted barn

A welcome return

We had lunch here recently and were pleased that the place has been returned to one where the food and service are evenly matched. Two wood burning fires were a welcoming sight on a cold, blustery day and staff were very pleasant and helpful. We both opted for the fish and chips which was plentiful... read more

Nice place for a drink décor and ambience very good staff very friendly but found food disappointing. My meal looked lost on the plate when it arrived it looked like a starter portion and not a main meal . Also restaurant was very cold and had to keep my jacket on .After dinner drinks were served in wrong glasses i.e.... More

What a lovely place. Elegant interior, fantastic service, amazing food, gardens look great with lots of outside sitting and a huge carpark. Complaint? Its not on our doorstep, but is well worth the drive

I read about The Pear Tree's revamp in a Bath magazine, but forgot all about it until I happened to cycle past it on a meandering bike exploration of the local area. The old building is lovely from the outside, and tastefully modernized on the inside, with a clever choice of moods over three dining spaces - the sunny casualness... More

Everything about the meal was excellent. The only thing I would say is that the portions were rather large so much so that we couldn't manage a desert!!! 😪

So glad I brought my friend here for her farewell lunch before she emigrated to Australia. We both opted for the 2 course weekday lunch. lovely to see on a Tuesday afternoon we were not alone, probably another 3/4 tables and 3 couples in the bar reading newspapers, enjoying coffee. I chose the baked beetroot, radicchio and feta salad, followed by... More

We stayed here once before a couple of years ago and it was lovely. We just stayed again and it was super-lovely! The rooms, the open fire, the breakfast menu, the hosts, the dinner menu the staff...ALL terrific - understated and unassuming and all the better for it.

It was so lovely to be back in this beautiful country pub. I absolutely loved the decor and as I have recently moved back to the area it was the perfect place to go and try out since it had changed hands. I had the pork belly which was delicious, followed by my favourite dessert of sticky toffee pudding -... More

I was so pleased to hear The Peartree was once again up and running and had high hopes when I saw the new décor, which I really like, but sadly I found the food very average and over priced. A great deal of effort has been put into telling customers from where all the ingredients are sourced (mostly local) so... More

Hello, I'm a little bit baffled by your review because all of our main course dishes are accompanied by a form of potato and vegetables or salad. If you wanted mixed vegetables all you had to do was ask. The side orders are to go with dishes as an extra if you choose to. It's a real shame nothing was... More

It's like they don't know what gluten free means. So many people in this world are very very gluten intolerant and they definitely do their best to make them feel completely unwelcome. They have a petty excuse for gluten free bread which they refused to put around the burger because "it doesn't look nice" very pathetic excuse. The only thing... More
