Valentines night is special in many regards. You want to treat your loved one to something memorable. Having travelled to Suffolk for the weekend, I chose The Swan Inn as it was recommended by the B and B we had booked, and the website for the Swan looked promising. I booked a couple of weeks in advance and despite not... More

Since my last revue I have had the pleasure of dining at the Swan twice. Having read some of the recent revues I am wondering if some people have dined at a different venue to the one I visit. Both meals were of a very good standard and the staff could not have been more courteus and attentive. I will... More

The Swan was recommended to us by a friend. We found the whole experience outstanding. The staff were warm and attentive and we were sat by the fire - very comfortable for a cold evening. Although the place was full, there was a very relaxed atmosphere as we tucked into our oyster starter, which was fresh and tasted of the... More

Service appalling (one hour after ordering and behind all the later diners). Menu unaltered from lunchtime (6 hours later) with major items finished. Food poorly served (had to ask for some items on the menu not served). The bill (that took 10 mins with us being the remaining diners) was scribbled on a 2 square inch scrap of used paper... More

We had booked a tx7 here for lunch with friends, as we had eaten here several times before we were not put off by the fact that the pub was virtually empty, with only 2 other people dining, rather we thought it would make for a relaxed meet up with our friends, we had drinks, were told that the menu... We spent a long time - too long - thinking of a reply. Just read what you've written - at Christmas! Just listen to how you come across. The petty, unimportant, trifling little problem you thought you had on what was, for us, just before the busiest night of the busiest month in our working year. We were closing in... More

A superb meal from the Christmas menu. The choices on the menu were unusual, a parcel of traditional or vegetarian Christmas fare, and were delicious. The portions were just right, and everything was served perfectly. We did not feel rushed at all, and for a party of 10 + 1 baby, we were all made very welcome. We have eaten... More

The Swan has a lovely atmosphere and the food is usually good but in my opinion the portions are a little small for the cost of the meal, my fiance thought the same. Also I like to drink my wine in a nice glass, which I didn't get and because I asked for a large glass of wine instead of... More

Our Thursday lunch for three here was lacking in atmosphere, despite a log fire being kept on the go by the barmaid. The winelist is from seemingly just Majestic - and thus was good value for the pub to buy, but uninspired for patrons. The burger and chips was good, but was more £6.95 value than the £9,95 - and... I absolutely loved my dining experience here from the friendly owners/staff. The atmosphere is traditional which is refreshing compared with so many mini - chained / gastro pubs. We all had really good food and with wine a very reasonable bill.
