A superb meal from the Christmas menu. The choices on the menu were unusual, a parcel of traditional or vegetarian Christmas fare, and were delicious. The portions were just right, and everything was served perfectly. We did not feel rushed at all, and for a party of 10 + 1 baby, we were all made very welcome. We have eaten... More

The Swan has a lovely atmosphere and the food is usually good but in my opinion the portions are a little small for the cost of the meal, my fiance thought the same. Also I like to drink my wine in a nice glass, which I didn't get and because I asked for a large glass of wine instead of... More

Our Thursday lunch for three here was lacking in atmosphere, despite a log fire being kept on the go by the barmaid. The winelist is from seemingly just Majestic - and thus was good value for the pub to buy, but uninspired for patrons. The burger and chips was good, but was more £6.95 value than the £9,95 - and... I absolutely loved my dining experience here from the friendly owners/staff. The atmosphere is traditional which is refreshing compared with so many mini - chained / gastro pubs. We all had really good food and with wine a very reasonable bill.

Working in London for a couple of weeks; came up on the weekend to do a little walking through the lovely Suffolk countryside and visit some old churches. Woolpit is a beautiful, historical village with a lovely church, so The Swan seemed a good base for these explorations. I can't praise this wonderful place highly enough. Booking was simple, with... My partner and I spent a night at the Swan Inn late September after a short drive from Newmarket. Enjoyed dinner, breakfast and the accommodation. The food was exceptional by pub standards and very good compared to the restaurants we ate at during our three weeks in the UK. Woolpit is a typical Suffolk village and a very interesting place... Had a wonderful meal at the Swan, Woolpit Suffolk. First time visit and the food was devine and the staff could not do more to help. Top class. Sandie C

Firstly I should make it clear that this review and rating is as a pub as we only had a drink, so I cannot comment on the food or restaurant aspect. With the intention of finding a traditional pub for a few drinks and possibly a meal later in the evening we stopped at The Swan for a drink in... More

Normally the reviews left on Tripadvisor tell us all we need to know about the reviewer. In this case, and in the case on the previous review, we would usually just ignore them - but the sheer length and tedium of this drivel requires, indeed demands a response. The problem is we just don't know where to begin and frankly... More

Just popped in for a drink on a very hot day. First time and not sure what to make of it. Only one draught lager and one real ale available. Food looked ok but wasn't eating. Just quite a surreal atmosphere and service, not sure it's catering for the majority of the local residents. Will have to visit again and... More

A friend took me here as she had been before as part of a special celebration. We were treated to superb service with a smile and great food in smart surroundings. I didn't know the village but it is very attractive and well worht a vist. When you do visit the Swan. I think they serve food for limited hours... More
