Went here for a meal last Saturday. Hidden away down a country lane; very attractive restaurant, clean, nicely furnished. Good service. I had pork ribs cooked with chillies which fell off the bone & were delicious. Followed by duck with cherry & chocolate sauce (lovely - not sweet at all) & perfectly cooked veg. Other friends had perfectly cooked steaks... More

A wonderful old converted stable block full of character. It is well hidden away, and once you do find it, drive carefully as the drive is a bit bumpy and winding. The menu is kept quite simple, but well done. Food is very good, not stunning, but all piping hot, fresh and perfectly enjoyable. Staff are very friendly and helpful,... More

This restaurant is hidden away & when driving down the track go very slowly. It is full of pot holes. We went for afternoon tea using a Groupon voucher. There was a choice of English Breakfast ,Earl Grey & fruit teas. It came in a small pot & we were not offered refills. The sandwiches consisted of ham on sliced... More

By its tucked away countryside location I wondered how this restaurant could ever be a commercial success when I first arrived to dine there. Here's why I think it is: The restaurant appears to occupy a former stable block close by a large old country estate house and with authentic period tackle on view it enhanced the whole character of... Went here with friends to eat, they need to pay attention to basics ie scraping the carrots so they are a nice orange and clean, two of our party the meat was tough, starters nothing special and served on plates that were too small. Staff friendly nice location but overall very amateurish.

Great setting. Food average to good. Fish pie needed cheese more crispy on top. Beef and ale pie , a proper home-made pie. Nice chips. Starters good. Reasonable value. Good to average service.

Went with a friend for afternoon tea....had never been before and had a Groupon voucher so was a good deal. We weren't disappointed the whole selection looked lovely and tasted so good. Certainly plenty there....sandwiches...four different types of cake and scones with cream and jam....very filling! Will have to go back and try lunch...the menu looks inviting :-) The setting...
