Great setting, average to good food.

Great setting. Food average to good. Fish pie needed cheese more crispy on top. Beef and ale pie , a proper home-made pie. Nice chips. Starters good. Reasonable value. Good to average service.

Went here with friends to eat, they need to pay attention to basics ie scraping the carrots so they are a nice orange and clean, two of our party the meat was tough, starters nothing special and served on plates that were too small. Staff friendly nice location but overall very amateurish.

Went with a friend for afternoon tea....had never been before and had a Groupon voucher so was a good deal. We weren't disappointed the whole selection looked lovely and tasted so good. Certainly plenty there....sandwiches...four different types of cake and scones with cream and jam....very filling! Will have to go back and try lunch...the menu looks inviting :-) The setting... Worth taking the trouble to find, tucked away behind Stowlangtoft Hall Nursing Home, this ia a delight. From walking in to the warmest welcome, nothing too much trouble, food is great (Afternoon Tea) Choice of scones, great cakes, great tea, tap water on request, and REAL Orange Juice/ Loads of character, part of old stable yard, outside area is so... Stumbled upon this restaurant - fabulous character. Lovely staff and excellent food. Their slogan 'once found never forgotten' is certainly true.

The warm welcome from our hosts was the start of an excellant evening .The menu, although not extensive, was sufficient for all palates. The size of all of the courses was quite generous and really hot(apart from the scrumptious desserts), just like food should be. The location although off the beaten track it was well worth the visit and shall return.

It was one of the best meals I have had for a very long time. I am a coeliac ( gluten free ) and often eating out is a disappointment, especially desserts. There was a choice of 2 proper gluten free desserts and I chose the chocolate fudge cake which was lovely, a real treat. My husband had the crumble... More
