Have phoned and left messages to book a table. No one has returned calls I just wonder does anyone know if they are still open for business.
Intended to eat there, telephoned and left a message. No one telephoned back. Went anyway, tricky to find, up a track. Parked, other cars there, the door not easy to find. According to notice, an evening scheduled to be open. Could hear someone inside, banged on door, no one came. Could hear voices and radio, shouted, no response. Telephoned on...

My wife and I ate here on our last visit to Badwell Ash Holiday Lodges. We arrived very early but were looked after very well. The food was delicious with good accompanying wine. Would highly recommend a visit. Give them a ring to book a table in advance as they do seem to get booked up with party bookings.
We reserved a table at the dark horse for a few close friends as an introduction to this fantastic venue. My husband and I visited for our wedding anniversary following recommendations from friends and from trip advisor. We were not disappointed. The location is stunning, the decor is quirky, the proprietor was welcoming and extremely attentive. Service was prompt, the food is locally sourced, seasonal and DIVINE! Will most certainly return and highly recommend to others.
I went with a group of men 30 of us for a good meal, with fizz for a welcome drink. I cannot say without slandering how bad the experiance was! Cheap wine served from "Corona" bottles! That says it all.
Had a smashing Saturday evening dinner here with friends, not my most favourite menu but thats a personal choice, all the starters & mains & puds were cooked spot on, the service was good.
The ambience was vibrant & plenty of people in past 10.00 PM we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, please give it a go if you are inclined....
