The Pheasant is a very warm friendly pub which also happens to serve some of the best pub restaurant food in Cumbria and the South west of Scotland. Our favourite dishes are the steak and ale pie and the sticky salmon along with the many excellent deserts all up to a high standard. We have being going to the Pheasant for nearly... A lovely village pub, which seems popular with the locals. Staff very friendly and the food was excellent. They also have a Gluten Free menu with a good selection. Need to book on Friday and Saturdays. Will definitely go again.

Always a favourite; cosy pub; warm fire in winter; spacious seating areas; pool table in the back; very friendly; excellent interesting menu; probably one of the best cheese boards I've ever had. Parking easy. Wi-fi not indoors; go out into the centre of the road!

Visiting our son in Castle Carrock and staying at the excellent Tottergill Cottages, made the Pheasant an ideal choice and we keep returning for the warm welcome in comfortable and friendly surroundings - the men unable to resist the superb steaks and local ales which never disappoint. Even when busy (quiz night being especially popular) we were made to feel... More

Ate here while staying at Heads Nook Hall. I had the Camembert and Onion tart with relish which was excellent and my partner had a Sirloin steak. I also enjoyed a glass of the local pale ale. The staff are friendly and service was great. I definitely recommend a meal at The Pheasant Inn.

I have eaten at this restaurant many time after being introduced to it by my Mother and Father in Law. The staff are warm and welcoming and nothing seems to be too much for them. It can be at times very busy but the standard never lowers and the food arrives quickly. My personal favourite is the Home Made Burger... More

I have visited this pub to eat many times, and it's standards never fails to impress. The fillet steak is the best I have ever had, and the ambience and the friendly customer service is excellent.
