A real pub for real people

Ate and/or drank here every night for a week. Unless you want the restaurant, I suggest use the the bar which is welcoming and has a great atmosphere and blend of locals, hotel guests and casual visitors. Lots of pictures of its past on stone walls.Food was largely fine and freshly cooked which... read more

We have been to the Hostelrie about 6 times for a meal and pay £20 to get there by local taxi. Three times the white wine has not been chilled and plunged into an ice bucket hoping for instant success, it happened again last night. I ordered simple grilled mackerel with no dressing or oils (my choice). The two fillets... More

We attended a wedding in the area and found this fabulous place to stay. Beautiful room overlooking the lovely countryside. Friendly staff. We had a good breakfast but no time to sample the varied menu on return from the wedding. Committed to farm to fork and local sourcing this extends to lovely local spirits, ciders and beers as well as... More

This was the first of our eating places on our recent holiday to the area. We loved it! Great food and attentive staff. The kids wouldn't fancy staying here as my husband kept winding them up about it being haunted! Amazing building though and if we come alone will definitely try and stay here. Thanks to all the staff if... More
