Despite it being at the end of the kitchen hours, the staff were good enough to not only serve us, but cook us proper meals. Several of us had the fish and chips and it was nicely done. Service was friendly and atmosphere pleasant.

My mother and I went to this establishment on Sunday 2nd June intending to have lunch. Upon arrival we found the restaurant deserted, as was the reception area. I went into the bar to enquire whether they were serving lunch and was told they were and to go and sit in the restaurant. After some minutes no-one had come to... More

A group of 25 of us turned up for a drink after a long walk and liked the look of the menu so much that we booked to return on Bank Holiday Monday for lunch. Friendly and welcoming, it was certainly worth the return visit for food. Kids, teenagers and adults with a wide range of tastes all enjoyed lunch... More

I understand that the restaurant changed hands in February this year(2013) my instincts told me to allow more time however a local friend had received good reports and accompanied us. Although their is a gothic exterior once inside it is plain that both time and money have been spent on the interior as it is light and contemporary. The restaurant... More

Fantastic service, great breakfast (with black pudding) lively local pub, great selection of well kept beer, excellent bar staff and the owner was on the scene to make sure all was good for us. Cant fault it really. Will try it again at some stage.

I recently spent the weekend in Goodrich with my girlfriend as a small getaway over the Easter bank holiday. The area is lovely and we found this restaurant (also a nice looking B&B and comfortable pub) for our last evenings dining. First impressions walking into the pub for a pre-dinner drink were very positive. The decor seemed recently refurbished &... More

A lovely building in a lovely location. Real fires greeted us in the Restaurant by way of a log burner and real fire. The decor was nicely done and matched the building. The toilets were well stocked and clean. Although people seemed to wander through to use them from the bar. A nice rear garden suitable for families and summer... More

This pub/restaurant has recently re-opened, with a new management and revamped dining room, but the bar area, although spruced up, is much the same (Thank God). A limited bar menu, but none the worse for that, although would-be regulars will appreciate some occasional changes to the offerings and it is, perhaps, a little pricey for main courses? We had well... More

Under new management at our time of visit and so they may need time to find their feet. They have a massive task to compete with other pubs nearby and on this showing they will struggle with the value for money aspect. The menu is a bit basic and lacks flair and is also quite expensive in terms of portion... More

We ate here on a Wednesday night having dropped in briefly on Saturday night for a pint. The welcome was warm and friendly. The menu was explained to us, all locally sourced produce, and arrived promptly. Both food and (local) real ale was excellent and reasonably priced.
