Welcoming

Food was good. Staff were welcoming. Husband was disappointed by the canned Guiness even though there was a Guinness pump. The barmaid upended the can into the glass and squeezed!!! Would eat here again if we are in the area.

Had a great family here in a warm and comfortable restaurant. There was a good range available and the servings were just the right size. The staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. Really enjoyed this.

This pub has a good bar menu and al a carte restaurant. Staff were particularly helpful, the food tasty and well presented. It was quiet in November when we ate there but could easily be quite busy in high season.

We have stayed here previously and return on our yearly break away and always return as really like the bar area and is a lovely building. We went on Friday 14th for dinner and was waiting for over 5 minutes for a waitress to arrive, when she did there was no apology. We were really disappointed with the choice of... More

Popped in for a brew after walking the dog. Lush beer garden, inside is very pleasant too. Food menu looks good with nice variety, usuals and some individual touches, and plenty of events scheduled in for Halloween. Nice idea at the bar too showing where all their produce is sourced locally from too. Definitely returning.

We were stayoing as a group of four in the area and had been given the names of a number of places to eat. Our informant had said that lunch here was good but didn't know about dinners! In the event, we tried to book elsewhere but couldn't get a table so booked at the Hostelrie instead. I'm glad we... More

It is a great looking building from the outside, and has nice gardens. With regards to the inside it is a nice pub but it would benefit from more subtle lighting as it was too bright (they went to the trouble of putting tea lights on the tables which was a bit of a waste of time) Apart from that... One of the best meals I've had for quite a while. The staff were very friendly, very polite and accommodating. Whitebait for starters was cooked very well. Its been ages since I've had whitebait that was not dried and over cooked. Delicious with the alioli. 3 of us had faggots for our main course. If you come here I would strongly... More

A very welcoming inn. Good selection of ales. The beer garden is well kept and tables are well spaced.
