A very welcoming inn. Good selection of ales. The beer garden is well kept and tables are well spaced.

Recently went here with a group of 12 and gave very short notice, they were very accommodating and fitted us in. We nearly all had steaks, and not one of us was disappointed. The Chef even made us a port and Stilton sauce that was not on the menu! Really nice, and reasonable pricing too.

Definitely the better of the two restaurants in Goodrich where we spent the week. Tasty food, well priced, friendly atmosphere and welcoming to drinkers and diners alike, a rarity these days. Would recommend highly.

Visited this pub a handful of times, whilst staying in the village. Very friendly staff, and a great landlord who gave us a few handy hints on our first night in the area. He did the ice bucket challenge on a Sunday afternoon bbq which was great fun - a local jazz/blues band and the sun shone too. Marvellous! Good... More

I can recommend the fish and chips with home made tartar sauce. Friendly staff and a lovely location. The castle is worth a visit as well

We called in while waiting for a bus after visiting the castle. Our food was very good (roast veg risotto with delicious celeriac). Staff gave us helpful advice on our journey and even offered to phone ahead to check if the ferry was running. Really helpful, hospitable and high standard.

The Hostelries is a very friendly pub doing good food - we both loved the duck Cassoulet. WE only ate there the one night but would be very happy to revisit.

Went for an early Saturday evening meal - lovely bar food in a clean and characterful pub. Staff efficient and pleasant. Loo (ladies!) modern, spotlessly clean (as was the pub itself) and stocked with gorgeous handwash, lotion and tissues - very impressed! Added bonus, although we didn't use it, was a very nice sunny beer garden and a decent sized... More

Food average and overpriced.......tiny portions too. Felt very much like an inconvenience to the waiting staff who couldn't even be bothered to speak with words just replied with grunts. Requests to change accompaniments with dessert were ignored and at no point were we asked if all was ok. Felt not dissimilar to a trip to McDonalds. Should have realised that... More
