Not worth the money. If you have a lot of time in which you want to stretch your legs then stop. It's pricey, the day we were there the cashiers were having a terrible day. And they let us all know that. The line was painfully long. The service extremely slow. The food bland. Overall, not worth the stop. The... More

Nice outside area, large tables, good for a lunch stop. For US standards the coffee is spectacularly good (European travelers will know what I mean ;-). Also check the small art shop next door.

The omelette and potatoes were very tasty, but $18 for a blt sandwich was ridiculous. Fun and funky atmosphere.

Love this place-always a funky assorted mix of locals to day trippers and the good food, coffee and tea makes this a must do when trekking up and down the coast. Get here early-they are BUSY and run out of stuff people, BE NICE to the Staff please and enjoy some of the most simply delicious food in the area.

The staff seemed frazzled and unable to handle the restaurant on a Monday morning. On top of that they were extraordinarily rude. Such a waste of time. It was expensive for what we got. We payed $29 for a piece of toast with avocado and radish on it and a entree salad. For the "sandwich: the avocado was the only... More

What's not to like. Great morning pastry, great cappuccino, wonderful lunch- oh that bread! Great outdoor space! Very cheerful hostess at 8:30 in the morning. Saw her at 8:00 that evening and she was just as cheerful. Will have dinner here next time we are in Big Sur.

We arrived at 2:30 only to be told that we were too late for lunch. Although we were disappointed we understood that the staff needed some down time to prepare for dinner. However it would have been nice if the host had not been quite so disdainful. We opted to stay for coffee but after drinking a lukewarm latte and... More

Read an excellent review in the Sunday Times in UK. Made special effort to get there for lunch. Arrived 2.30 and were told they were closed for food until 5. Staff disinterested. Charged 35 dollars for 3 coffees, an orange juice, a scone and one dessert. Any visitors from the UK - much nicer, cheaper places in Carmel .

Our family's wedding party (rehearsal dinner) rented the outdoor space to the left of the main building and enjoyed great food and decent service! Great for our special event-- gave everyone room to mix and mingle and enjoy a nice meal before the big day!
