I visited the Big Sur Bakery for the first time last year. I happened to drop by on a day when there was a celebrity photographer there doing a photoshoot for BMW/GQ. It was a really wild experience since I am also a photographer. I visited again this year, and while there were no photographers, the pastries and drinks were... More

Yummy food, but after waiting in line over half an hour to order (there were only 4 or 5 people ahead of us—you do the math), we had to wait 45 minutes for a cup of soup and a sandwich. This was a big bummer because my 83 year old mother and I only had 2 days in Big Sur... More

We stopped in on our way from SF to Hearst Castle and loved everything we bought! Although it's fairly pricey ($55 for 2 scones, doughnut, three cookies, bacon bun, oj and latte), the maple walnut scone was incredible! The view was amazing too, and even though the bathrooms were basically little outhouses to the right of the restaurant, they were... More

This place is known for their pastries and we absolutely recommend you stop by for this! We happened upon this place for thanksgiving dinner. Their set menu was not exceptionally delicious but was ok. not sure if this was indicative I'd their standard menu in terms of creativity or lack thereof. The other concern was their recommended wine pairing for... More

Just stopped by for coffee and peanut butter & jelly cookies and wasn't disappointed. Terrific place to grab a bite along the way also. Staff was very friendly and the place was the kind of place you hope to find in Big Sur!

Build a sandwich or pick up a snack. Select a complementary wine and you are set to go. The restaurant is solid, too.

Super cool, cute place with yummy breakfast! Fresh squeezed orange juice, best pumpkin muffin ever and great eggs on toast! Already asked for the cookbook for Christmas!

We were visiting California for a college reunion and decided to arrive ahead of time to do a short coastal tour. We had stayed the night near Carmel and we had gotten a map from the concierge's desk since we were headed to Hearst Castle for a tour the next day. We were planning on leaving early so we would... Last gas going south for 40 miles, but worth the stop even if you do not need gas. Coffee better than any Starbucks, latte hot strong but not better. Ginger scone and many other treats. Just an old time cool place

What a wonderful spot to stop into and grab a java on the way to hike or upon leaving. There is a great menu but we didn't stay to eat.
