Off of hwy 1 , up in a hill . Has indoor and outdoor seating . View was ok , just when you go you have to swat flies . It is outdoors . Now the ribs were good and my chicken sandwich was good also . Service stood out , I was very pleased with the service . Value... More

Closed to a wedding on a Saturday night, the main hotel restaurant is nicely set and has a limited California style menu. Food is fair and expensive. Not worth the price.

We had lunch on two successive days. The swordfish was exceptional , while the Cubano sandwich was a misfire of meats and flavors. The second day we opted for the truly grilled hamburgers. The clue was no cheese was offered. While pricey the burgers were perfectly cooked and stood by themselves, altho my wife had to have her Grey Poupon.... More

stayed as guest and place was very good except for dinner. Lunch better, but for high price, and fair service, would go to other location before coming back this location. The space was nice, but not many people each night when we eat, and the food and service was average. Expect to pay $75.00 per person without alcohol. The chef... More

I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. Service was outstanding!! The food is amazing, the menu is price fixe, with great choices for the four course. Food is fresh and well prepared. We celebrated an anniversary 40th and birthday. A special night, made perfect by great food and service.

With so many great restaurant choices in Carmel including the Le Bicyclette, Vescuvios, Flahertys, Little Napoli, Casanova and Mundaka why venture 20 miles down the coast on a windy road to Big Sur? One reason; the Restaurant at Ventana Inn. The setting is non pareil with a backdrop of the golden Santa Lucia mountains and a breathtaking view of the... More

There are about three excellent restaurants in a Big Sur California. Ventana Inn restaurant is located on the mountain side of Highway One and is one of the three best restaurants. First, the placement and location of Ventana is excellent, the architecture is stunning, and the placement of fireplaces and the smell of natural wood smoke in the outdoor setting... More

From a 2 week holiday in California, all four members of my family voted it one of their favourite parts. We were looking for a quick stop for food whilst driving along the Pacific Coast Highway and decided to go the Ventana after it came up on the map. After being sat at our table with an absolutely stunning view... More

We were staying at Post Ranch Inn on our honeymoon and even though the hotel is amazing, we were hugely disappointed by the poor service and cold food we experienced at Sierra Mar, with it being the evening, they didn't even have the view to compensate! (However, the breakfast there is incredible.) So, after the disastrous meal the evening before... More

We traveled across the street from Post Ranch one evening to try out the Restaurant at Ventana. We got lazy last year and just stayed in our room, but staying at PRI much longer this time we adventured out to other places this time. The restaurant doesn't seem that large up front, but once you enter you can tell it's... More
