Very Quiet in the Off Season

The menu was limited, but the selections we had, steak and Cornish Hen were very good. Nicely seasoned and sauced. Our waiter was a font of knowledge about the area and gave us a lot of good advice for touring the next day.

Good choice of unique foods, great service. Our waiter was truly interested in ensuring we enjoyed our meal - actually asking questions about what we liked and didn't like. Highly recommended. Bonus; only WiFi in the area!

Enjoyed our meal at Big Sur Roadhouse! We were staying in Little Sur cabins and had a nice little jaunt through the redwoods to get there. Our server was friendly and we enjoyed the vegetarian friendly pasta, the endive salad and pretzel.

we were staying across the street, so stopped in for dinner one night. we sat at the bar, which was perfect. they had live jazz that was beautiful, relaxing and romantic. food was really good - better than we expected. we ordered a few small plates/appetizers that were a fair size and delicious. definitely enjoyed it.

The wilted chicories, roasted vegetables, and dried fruit with whole grain mustard dressing...is outstanding! I don't even know what to call this dish. It's a cross between a warm salad and a vegetable hash. It bursts with sweet, savory, and nutty flavors. I loved it so much, I had it on two occasions while we stayed at Glen Oaks. The... More

While the roadhouse appears as a divey looking rustic country kitchen as one drives by it on the 1, it is anything but. The restaurant is a relaxing, beautifully designed, friendly restaurant serving decent food at a relatively (it is big sur) good price. As I entered the restaurant I was immediately struck by the japanese- and scandinavian-inspired design. It... More

We were the first ones in the door and were greeted by a friendly and accommodating gentleman who quickly got us our coffee and tea and took our order. Our English muffin sandwiches arrived rapidly and were very delicious. We HAD to try a made-on-site / right out of the kitchen maple donut and it was SO good.

We ate here on New Year's Eve. The food was awesome, the band (soft jazz) was great, the atmosphere is perfect. It's a pricey restaurant but felt quite worth the money.

The menu choices were limited but very delectable albeit expensive to the general public. The outdoor seating layout was also very cosy much like the backyard of an large cabin house. The staff was also very warm and friendly.
