Description: The Big Sur Roadhouse features Chef Matt Glazer’s fresh take on classic California cuisine. Hailing from New Orleans, Matt brings a unique blend of Cajun style to the bountiful California coast. In keeping with our Big Sur ethos, the seasonal menu is filled with locally sourced organic ingredients. Also, not to be missed, San Francisco designer Steve Justrich’s “homegrown modernism” has transformed the Roadhouse into a truly unique and fitting environment for dining in Big Sur. We are open all day for breakfast, lunch, dinner and small bites in between. Please stop by for coffee, a glass of wine, a snack or make a reservation for a full meal.

Well appointed restaurant with outdoor patios out front (with fire pit) and back. Stop by for breakfast, lunch or dinner and you'll be happy with the interesting mix of California and creole offerings. The biscuit sandwich is a perfect way to fuel up before going on a hike. I had dinner there and the catch of the day was a... More

My wife and I stopped here by pure chance. There is a fence which conceals the restaurant, the restaurant is well furnished and the fixtures and fittings were all to a high standard. Service was excellent and so was the food and drink! A very simple review - it's a great place to stop and if we ever passed again... More

We were on the way to Carmel form Los Osos and wanted to try a new place for breakfast/lunch. The reviews seemed a little mixed but the Roadhouse is very well appointed, and seemed to be a notch up from most of the other places we have stopped over the years. I had the Biscuit and Egg Sandwich and it... More

The food was spectacular every meal we had. Just don't order the Gumbo, everything else was great though.

My family of 4 (one vegetarian) stopped by for dinner. The atmosphere is nice and the food spectacular. The steak was delicious (according to my husband) and the vegetarian option was gourmet and also delicious. We are from Georgia and were surprised to see grits on the menu...so we ordered them... they were nicely prepared with different spices and cheese.... More

My wife and I visited Big Sur Roadhouse and had a wonderful experience. We had dinner our first night in Big Sur (definitely recommend the steak) then breakfast the next morning and stopped by for a drink the next night. Thank you to Nick, True, and Lyle for the excellent service!

Food was really excellent and the place was extremely nice. We sat out front near the fireplace and later discovered an area in back that was not being used that also had a fireplace. Not sure why the back area was not being used - we would have preferred that to the front area as it would have been quieter... More

Loved the food, Loved the atmosphere. Had breakfast, lunch and dinner here and each meal was wonderful. Fresh and inspired dishes at a much more reasonable price than other local restaurants. The chef there is doing it right!

Stopped in for lunch without knowing anything about the restaurant. It has a lovely atmosphere and nice outside sitting areas but the food was a little disappointing. I had a turkey sandwich on wholewheat, with coleslaw. It was fairly bland and somewhat dry. My husband had a Po' Boy Sandwich which he enjoyed but couldn't pick up as the bottom... More
