Description: The Big Sur Roadhouse features Chef Matt Glazer’s fresh take on classic California cuisine. Hailing from New Orleans, Matt brings a unique blend of Cajun style to the bountiful California coast. In keeping with our Big Sur ethos, the seasonal menu is filled with locally sourced organic ingredients. Also, not to be missed, San Francisco designer Steve Justrich’s “homegrown modernism” has transformed the Roadhouse into a truly unique and fitting environment for dining in Big Sur. We are open all day for breakfast, lunch, dinner and small bites in between. Please stop by for coffee, a glass of wine, a snack or make a reservation for a full meal.

Going in to the roadhouse, we were expecting cheap food. Turns out the Big Sur Roadhouse is a roadhouse in name and location only (like almost everything in Big Sur, it's right off Highway 1). We didn't mind much, though, as the restaurant glows with the copper furnishings and the menu features a lot of options, including smaller plates. We... More

Best place for dinner in Big Sur or to have a larger crowd/dinner. We have been here a few times when staying in town and the food has been nothing less than stellar. We got married in Big Sur and had our rehearsal dinner here for about 75 guests. The spot was easy to work with on our needs and... More

All dishes I had made from locally sourced organic ingredients were delicious. I had shaved fennel salad with radishes as a starter, roasted vegetables with raisins as a main and Banana Bread Pudding with cinnamon ice cream plus an Espresso for dessert. Staff members are friendly and welcoming, there is a nice atmosphere.

After reading reviews of foodies and chefs I respect that have eaten here I wish I could recommend it. Having grown up in the South, with Cajun Godparents, and spending my formative years in Nawlins--I can say that this food was far from anything I have ever eaten in that fair city. I get fusion with the Cali/Big Sur style,... More

The Big Sur Roadhouse was located directly across the highway from Glen Oaks Big Sur which was fantastic. We had a marvelous dining experience coupled with great conversation with other diners and the staff. All were easy going and from so many different backgrounds. The Blackened Salmon with a glass of Line Shack wine and deviled eggs were excellent. The... More

We greatly enjoyed our dinner at this Cajun-inspired new eatery, part of the trendy Glen Oaks Big Sur hotel. It is next to Hwy 1 (PCH), and has no view. But it has a nice outdoor patio and a soothing, light-colored and very modern interior dining room. Staff was very low key but good. Almost all the food was excellent,... More

Be careful or you will miss it. West side of the highway, bright new sign across the street from the gas station. This was an accidental find as we were referred by the café across the highway because they had run out of propane. Excellent , excellent food. The references to poor service had to be a wait to be... More

This was an unexpected treasure!! We made it for lunch with minutes to spare!! We were so lucky!! Huge sandwiches !! Stuffed with yummy meats it was a two handed meal!! Espresso over vanilla ice cream was the crowning end to a delicious meal! Our waiter, who is also a student from Monterey, was fantastic! Friendly, helpful, fast and fun!!... More

It looks so welcoming and the menu is southern food---a fun surprise for Big Sur---the service was slow slow slow---the food was ok--so all in all, not bad but not above average.
