No longer sure " made in house" means anything

We had a late breakfast at the Roadhouse. On the menu it was described as " made in house English muffins, fried egg and sausage" Avcado was an extra $2.50 .What came to our table was soggy flat English muffins, an over cooked egg, and a disk of sausage with gristle ", then the avocado was... read more

Homemade granola, yogurt and fruit for me and homemade English muffin with egg and Italian sausage hit the spot. Good service - nice stop in Big Sur.

This restaurant is totally baby unfriendly. I patronize this restaurant today with my family, including a pair of 6 month old twin babies. The bathrooms have no diaper changing station, so I asked the waitress where I can change my babies' diapers. She was unsure but did not object when I used the restaurant's couch to change the diapers. Just... More

Roadhouse has a sober decoration, with an open fire and strong wooden tables, which are spaced out gently so you have some privacy to talk. Classical food, but very well prepared, and a nice sense of service. We had 3 dinners there during our stay, and we enjoyed all 3.

Service, ambience: - This place is more like arts gallary and decor is really "cool." Wait staff is also attentive and brought water glasses before we need to confront. I'm really pissed with some Frenetic CA restaurants while they mentioned drinking water is optional, bread is optional. Yes, I DO want to drink water after a long road trip and... More

Radom stop on the way up route 1 to San Fran. Met a couple from Spokane WA, and had a couple beers. Anyway, the layout and decor, are terrific. Food and beer great. Sat around the fire pit after a chilly mc ride, just like mana from heaven.

Had two breakfasts and dinner here. Beer selection was great, food was delicious and inventive, and the service was very attentive and warm.

Less than 10 items on the lunch menu, but we had and other diners ate, all were done well. Try the lamb sandwich, it has a middle east flare to it. My wife had the soup and salad and it was great too. One of the few times we had a soup that was not 1/2 cream.

Definitely not as casual as the name "roadhouse" implies, but very flavorful and unique options. Good service as well.

My husband and I came here after driving 3.5 hours from Napa to Big Sur. We were starving but didn't want to eat too much before our dinner reservation. The restaurant was adorable and we loved the decor. The food was great and so was the service.
