We went here on the suggestion of someone at the hotel where we were staying and they were right. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it was very quaint and had incredible views of the coastline with outdoor seating available. My wife got the Fish 'n Chips (they were ranked Top 5 by some magazine) and she... more

We were coming up Highway 1 last Fall, on a Friday in mid-October, and decided to stop here for lunch -- and what a great choice it was. We initially elected to sit inside (it was a little windy that day), but as soon as we sat down, we noticed that another party was leaving the perfect table out on... more

Quaint restaurant just south of Big Sur. They claim their Fish & Chips is rated in the top 5 and I agree. Good service and excellent view. more

We ate lunch there last year on a trip down the PCH and had fish'n'chips on the recommendation of a friend. Very good in every respect. This year we stayed overnight in a Lucia Lodge cabin (a wonderful experience, by the way) and ate dinner in the restaurant. I can't understand why this place gets marginal reviews. True--we are "Rubes"... more

We were driving up the coast on higway 1 to Carmel. A big storm was pounding the area with strong winds and rain. We went in and were amazed with the view. The waitress was very friendly and was very attentive to all of our needs. On the menu they claimed their fish n chips were great and rated the... more

We stopped at this restaurant for lunch. The service was really awful. The two ladies (one in her 50's, the other maybe 20's) were unfriendly, sad, and unable to smile. They did greet us when we walked in, but after I asked if we can sit at the porch, the old lady left without saying a word. We seated ourselves... more

Yes, it's expensive. No, it's not exactly gourmet. Yes, the bathroom is downstairs, through the unused bar, make a right, etc. All of which is completely canceled out by the absolutely unbelievable view. I challenge you to sit on the open deck sipping a beverage and not zone out for a least a couple of minutes staring at the Pacific... more

restaurant was nothing special at all. Options were extremely overpriced (there is noone else to eat nearby!), but the food was fine. It wasn't bad, it wasn't really good -- just "ok". And overpriced for what you get. If you're staying at Lucia lodge (which itself is AWESOME!), then you might as well have a meal there. But don't go... more

Pros: Unpretentious. Beautiful views. Cons: The food and the price. I don't know if the main cook was sick or if that's the usual offerings, but we were there on a Saturday night over labor day weekend (so you'd think they'd have their full staff for such a busy night) and it was the most overpriced disappointing meal I've ever... more

I did notice that there were some flies, but I think this also comes with the territory, like the high priced food in Big Sur. They leave a lot of windows open so that people can sit outside and eat like they want to. My SO and I went for dinner. The wines by the glass were surprisingly reasonably priced... more
