On a recent bike tour down the Big Sur Coast, we stopped at the Lucia Lodge for lunch. I had the Savory Salad and french fries. Both tasted wonderful (but everything does when one has just cycled 20 miles on a fully loaded bike). Although the prices were steep ($4 for an ordinary coffee, $6 for... read more

My wife and I ate dinner overlooking the great Pacific and it was a perfect moment in time together. The restaurant has some amazingly well prepared food. My wife and I were not starving so we ate a few different small plates that were well made. The little touches made all the difference as the Chef roasted the nuts for... More

The food was excellent, service was cheerful and efficient, and the views were lovely. We did not expect the food to be so good given past experience of semi-isolated roadside restaurants (with little competition for some distance either way), but the quality of ingredients and preparation were great, very enjoyable.

Lucia Lodge is in a beautiful spot and the staff is sweet. The restaurant is expensive so one should consider reviews. My husband and I shared a ceasar salad which was large but the house dressing was strangely hot. My husband's chicken was undercooked--the thigh was bloody. I ordered a cod fish with a mix of brown and wild rice.... More

We were staying at the lodge, which was totally fine, but the restaurant wasn't so great. There aren't many other places you can get to without driving for 25+ minutes, so we gave it a shot. I think the prices should have been lower for the quality of the food. They also serve the continental breakfast for the hotel, which... More

We stopped here last week on the way from Monterey to San Luis Obispo. It looks quite ordinary from the road but we had an amazing lunch (although we didn't manage to finish it all with the large portions!). The restaurant has a great view over the Pacific and we were able to watch whales out at sea while we... More

stopped for lunch on 17th March....on our way from San Luis Obispo to Monterey.......we had superb vegetarian sandwiches washed down with apple juice while seated on the sun deck, one level below the road, enjoying the spectacular view.......a very energetic and attentive Weston attended to us.....since they were unable to provide freshly squeezed orange juice, Weston was happy to provide... We were very surprised with the selections on the menu. There was so many things we wanted to try. I loved the cheese plate.

Driving north from Cambria, Ragged Point was very crowded, so we kept going for another half hour and stopped for a late lunch. Gourmet sandwiches, friendly staff, and a great view!

Go for the famous fish and chips. Its a huge dish, you might want to share with your friend, but it is delicious. Friendly staff makes you feel at home, but with a great view from the ocean.
