Burrito Bar at the General Store

Once you have made the spectacular drive from Carmel to Big Sur, stop into the first place you come to on the West side of the road. In the General Store they have a burrito bar in the back that makes fantastic burritos. Get your burrito and then walk around behind the store to the shallow river... read more

We stayed in a cottage in April for five nights. It was huge for just my wife and myself and more than needed for $300 per night. Ours was one of only a few not shaded by the many redwoods and the sun through the big skylight heated the place badly while we were out each day. One day we... More

We ate here between hikes at Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park; it was totally overpriced. The service was really slow. The food was just OK. It's a beautiful setting, but I wouldn't go here again unless I didn't have a choice (which we really didn't, unless we wanted to drive somewhere).

Stayed at the Lodge and it was an easy walk to the restaurant. Ate breakfast one day, the French toast and coffee were very good. Also had a dinner of fish & chips which were fine but not great. Service was good. Overall the place was much better than I expected, service & food. Enjoyed sitting outside on the nice... More

Lovely dining room with lots of windows looking out at nature; very nice omlette and coffee refills.

One of the best meals around these parts, and a relaxing table by the river outside ~ what more could you ask for? The sand dabs were delicious.

Our room was very clean & a good size. We only stayed one night here on our way to SF. Checkin was easy & quick, didn't like the drive up to our room, one way road on side of cliff with a tree growing next to road pushing it up... but I guess that is what you get when your... More

Stayed at the lodge on a foggy night and didn't want to drive for dinner. OK Food, decent service. Slightly on the pricey side for the food but it is convenient.

We had dinner and the food was good, a little pricey ($27 for chicken?) but the service was slow. They only had two servers for the entire dining room so that was probably why. I'm not sure if that's typical or what, but they could've used one more person.

Rustic dining with outdoor seating in a forest setting. Good breakfast and lunches. The last time we were there was with our Porsche club, we were early but they accommodated us quickly and the food was good and the portions large.
