Good food

We stopped here for lunch and ate outside. The food is good and service is great. If the weather is good try to find a table outside.

When we traveled in Big Sur, we stopped there just to drink coffee. The coffee was good, the croissant was not so good, but the place itself was worth it all. Great views to the river. There are benches in the river. You can sit with your legs in the water and to drink coffee. Worthwhile to stop here, even... More

We had lunch here on our way down HWY 1. This is a very nice spot. We ate on the patio outside facing the woods. Very nice and great food and good service. Highly recommend this spot if you are traveling HWY 1.

This place is the main reason we take the coast up to the Monterey area. We time it for lunch out on the deck with the beautiful river running by. In the summer they used to have live music. (Not sure if they still do. ) It's a great place to relax and have a beer with your delicious lunch.... More

Great place to have a filling meal after a long day of hiking. The brisket and rib--heavy menu is rustic like the decor and the veggie and mash were fresh. Drinks were also great. The restaurant started as an apple pie stand and they use the same recipe today--we were charmed into ordering it but wouldn't order it again.

We had one of the most amazing meals for breakfast here. My wife ordered the pan-fried trout and I had the lox and bagels. Absolutely phenomenal. The room had a polished wood cabin look. We were seated by a large window where we could look out and see the beautiful scenery including a very large tree close by. The coffee... More

Excellent food and the setting is beautiful. We sat on the patio overlooking the Big Sur River. We enjoyed a nice lunch and later sat in the river (chilly) in the Adirondack chairs. A very relaxing environment with a surprisingly extensive menu. We enjoyed some central California favorites, seafood, and burgers. They were all very good.

We ordered and received our food in perfectly hot condition. Our waitperson was attentive and my glass never empty. We will definitely eat here again.
