It is just 4 miles away from Pfeiffer Beach in Big Sur, where you can't have food & drinks . You can halt here for tasting food of your choice and take a break from the long journey to the beach. You can also enjoy the running River water behind this restaurant , by sitting on the Cement benches provided... More

This is a great place to stop for snacks. Get an order to go and take it out back and have a picnic. There are chairs and tables or just bring your on blanket and lay in the grass. Food is good and the entire location is relaxing.

Atmosphere was terrific and peaceful, service was very efficient, food was good. be careful if you eat outside...bees, but they are quick to clear so that its not too much of an issue. The stream and spending time there was lovely and relaxing, would stop again, the gift shop had many things to see.

We stopped here for a dessert and coffee. We really enjoyed the Apple pie and Basket of fries that we ate. The staff were great, attentive and friendly. The fire place was on and the atmosphere was wonderful. The bathrooms were clean. I would definitely recommend this place and come back.

We had a $90 credit to eat dinner and breakfast in the restaurant because of a special package deal with the Inn. We started with drinks around the fireplace and moved in to the dining room. The menu was extensive and expensive but they had a $5 spaghetti and meatball special. It came with French bread. It was great for... More

My husband and I were driving from San Fransisco to Santa Monica on vacation. We had just visited the Carmel Mission and decided to drive a little before having lunch. We came across the River Inn and decided to take a chance and stop for lunch. We were very pleasantly surprised by the menu selections, quality of food, ambiance, and... More

We stopped here for lunch while driving down the coast and it fit our needs well. The food was good and reasonably priced. There are a couple other choices nearby for probably exquisite food at commensurate high prices, but this was a good balance and value. I had BBQ ribs and mac & cheese that was very good. Other smoked... More

Is stopped here on my drive from San Francisco to the park. I was warmly greeted by the wait staff and served immediate. I got the brisket sandwich which was good but nothing special. Overall, nice atmosphere with friendly wait staff.

We were hungry after visiting big sur park. This nearby place served delicious food promptly with friendly waitress. I had great fish tacos, my son had a burger, and my husband and daughter had pulled pork sandwiches. Everyone gave their meals high marks.

If you stay at the River Inn this is where you have breakfast which is absolutely fine. Service is friendly and there's a good choice of breakfast things. We also ate there one evening. Again service was fast and friendly.
