What else can I sqy-- grilled fish, cold beer, and sand under your toes. This is where the locals come for good food.
We had lunch at La Playita and the food was terrific. The fish was cooked perfectly and we got to pick out the fish we wanted….it is right on the beach as the name implies and the staff is very nice. It helps to speak a bit of spanish but they do have menus printed in English, so ask for... More
It doesn't get any better than this.....fresh, wonderfully prepared, and the portions sizes are very generous. An excellent value. Plus a view of the ocean with sand under your feet! We will return again and again next year.
You can't beat the location - in the sand, just north of the center of "town." You go, pick out your fish - grouper, snapper, lobster, whatever - from the cooler, and they cook it up for you and deliver it to your plastic table, head and all. And the best fried fish I have ever eaten. Highly recommend the guacamole, and the whole fried fish (which is priced by the kilo). After we ordered, the proprietor... More
go!!!!! it's a sleepy town, but the food is fresh and prepared perfectly. Ceviche, fresh catch of the day , lobster tails and cold beers. Where your flip flops, get in a cab, and enjoy
Honestly, I have not been very excited after the first lunch at this restaurant. Maybe I had too high expectations. I had a fish soup (with a lot of fish and seafood) but without any special taste and grilled fish fillet wich not impressed me so much. Some of my friends came back another day and they had a huge... La Playita can be hard to find just walking the beach as it only has a sign on the streetfront side. You have to go up over a small dune to get into the restaurant. LP looked like your usual beachside restaurant; thatched roof covered, plastic tables & chairs on a sand floor. What was unusual was the large red... More
been here twice will go again. We brought fish that we caught and they deep fry them - Excellent. We also had the conch ceviche it was outstanding.
