Surprisingly good....

So we went to Puerto Morelos to experience the "small fishing village" and had also planned on doing some snorkeling. Or taxi driver from Cancun suggested La Playita when we arrived in town. Went last Sunday and the place was filled with Mexican families. Had our feet in the sand, we enjoyed the shade, and the smell of salty sea. The service was quick and friendly and the food was fine. The fried fish was better than the shrimp quesadilla, though that was okay, too. Fair food, fair value.

Fun little beach restaurant! You sit in plastic chairs in the sand right on the beach. Kick off your sandals enjoy the music. Beautiful views of the ocean and friendly service. We only had a couple beers as we strolled through town so I have no idea how the food is.

Curved palm trees as playground for the kids & a beautiful view on the ocean with pina colada as sedatives for the parents. Under the palm leafs roof (fresher), we took cevices and a whole fried fish for 6. No need of coutlery, we attacked it with our hands and got the combined pleasure of a perfect crispy, tasty, seasoned... More

Nice, very casual restaurant on the beach. The ceviche was good as was the fried shrimp and fried fish filet the kids ordered. The margaritas tasted as though they were made with Sprite, not bad, just not a margarita. The best thing of all was the fried whole fish; tender, flaky, crispy-edged and delicious.

This is your local restaurant, on the beach (you cant see the ocean though... because of the sand dunes... but ohh well.) So if you are wearing high heels, you will get sand on your toes. Drinks are great, the view is great but the BEST is the BOQUINETE fish. The service is a bit slow ... so try to... More

great location on the beach, the floor is the beach. Very good fresh fish daily bought directly from the returning boats. Great cerviches. Definitely try the grilled octopus with garlic. Dress down and enjoy the beach and food.

First of all, Punta Morelos is a gem. Great little fishing town. We had lunch at La Playita. The ceviche was super good ( fish, shrimp, conch ). Location is on the beach with a fantastic view. Two thumbs up.

Excellent food! Would go back on another visit... We enjoyed a beer and our typical Mexican cuisine overlooking the fishing boats returning with their catches. Lovely!!
