We made a special trip to El Pesquero after stumbling onto the restaurant a couple of years ago. It was nice to see that the sand floors under the Palapa was still there as well as the great servers from a couple of years earlier. For the food, we had fresh Lobster, shrimp, and cerviche - all tasty and recommended.... More

Had a delightful meal here. I am one of those with eyes bigger than their stomach sometimes but managed to trooper on through. I decided to be adventurous by first ordering the Chipachole soup, which I had never heard of until this visit. It turns out to be a medley of seafood (shrimp, fish, squid, octopus) in a spicy broth... More

We had a wonderful time here. The food was amazing, and the service was some of the best we had all week. They brought out chips, salsas, beans and a cucumber salad for us to snack on before dinner. Everything we ordered was delicious. One thing I did notice is that this restaurant closes pretty early, so make sure you... More

We were in Puerto Morelos for a week in November and ate at several restaurants. Other restaurants were recommended, but we found this one on our own and I'm glad we did. From the surf board over the entrance to the sand floors this place is neat. The waiter couldn't do enough for us...nachos before the main meal, wifi password... More

I stopped here, just because I was looking for a whole fried fish, and I'm glad I did... The price was reasonable at 150 pesos per KG. It was just me, so I asked for a smaller fish, and was charged 120 pesos for my fish--perfect!! they brought the fish out for me to pick out as well. The guacamole... More

El Pesquero is located just north of the town square down an alleyway...a little out of the way but worth finding. You can eat your meal under a large palapa roof while burying your toes in the sand (floor)! There is a plat structure at the rear of the restaurant where your kids can play while you dine. They have... More

My wife and I stayed in Puerto Morelos in November. A local recommended El Pesquero on our first night - we ended up eating at least one meal there every day, and made a special trip from Playacar with our family a week later so they could try it as well. Great value - huge portions and fair prices for... More

We had a great mixed ceviche, garlic shrimp, and whole fried fish. The setting is low key. No ocean view, but a semi-outdoor, sand on the floor space. Menu in Spanish and English, and bilingual waiters. If you're going at dusk, mosquito repellent may come in handy-- though the had some available at the bar, too.

We ate here twice during our stay in Riviera Maya. It's a very informal place (e.g., sand floor). Everything we tried was wonderful. Both times, we started with the mixed seafood and fish ceviche. This was one of the best preparations of this dish I have had. The large size is an extremely generous portion. The deep fried whole fish... More
