Popular but not impressive

Every night this place was busy so we were excited to try it. The service was friendly but the food was just average.

This place spills quite literally onto the street and is busy, for good reason. Once I had their baked empanada stuffed with bacon, prunes and mantega cheese (like Mexican mozzarella) I couldn't bring myself to order anything else. You might want to bring a little bug spray if there's no breeze. The atmosphere is a hoot. All sorts of people.... More

This was our least liked place of our ten days in the area. Waited a long time for everything. They were busy, restaurants nearby were 1/2 full or empty. That's what we based our decision to dine on. We ordered Arrachera steak. It was fair but we had much better in Akumal and Tulum a few times. Ravioli- horrible. Ate... More

It didn't look like we could get in, but on asking we were promptly set up with a table for four. Seems like there is always room. Very accommodating and friendly staff. We started off with the garlic/Parmesan bread, excellent and so nicely presented. My husband and I shared the 14oz arrechara steak, again excellent and more than enough for... More

We've been in Puerto Morelos for 2 months. This is our third year. For service, food, price, entertainment, location, consistency, you cannot beat it anywhere in PM. The staff are always cheerful and accommodating. The menu is varied and the food is tasty. The prices are reasonable and if you're not big eaters like us, they happily serve you one... More

After trying another steak place across the way with success, we decided to try out Los Gauchos. Strangely, the two restaruants have almost identical menus. Is it really one??? So weird. Anyway, we ordered an empanada (delicious-superior to the other place), a shrimp appetizer (fine, not special) and a steak arrancha. The steak was okay. We ordered it medium rare... More

Try the bacon and prune, or "pampeana" empanadas. Fried or baked, it's all good. Their steak and chimichurri is great too. Margaritas come in generous sized, authentic styled, hand painted glasses.

The best empanadas in town. Salads were very fresh and tasty as well. We had steaks twice. The second time they were very good, the first time a bit chewy, The service is excellent, with English spoken. Adjacent to the town square, it is within easy walking from most parts of Puerto Morelos. Also very accommodating for larger groups. We... More

Our family of five went for dinner last week cause we had heard so much about this resto. We were a bit disappointed however. Then empanadas were fantastic we had them baked. The steak was tough. The chicken was overdone. The fish was under done. Go for the empanadas and entertainment.

Amazing restaurant. Great, varied menu - empanadas to die for, tender fillet and rib-eye. Try the chicken masala or make up your own tapas from the wonderful entrees. Beers are cold and wine reasonably priced - try the Malbec. The music (and dancing) at this place is amazing - Friday night is Cuban night and the standard is amazing (... More
