Great food, good music, relaxing ambiance and very friendly service. Obvious pride of ownership and cleaner than many U.S. restaurants!

Wanted to go to the Argentinian steakhouse restaurant that was closed when we got there and found this gem. Three tenderloin and one shrimp pasta supper with drinks and dessert for 1,525 pesos Ina clean setting. Tenderloin was awesome and service was very good. We would go back in a heartbeat. Coming from an Alberta farm boy that's a huge... More

Went twice to this restaurant and enjoyed good food and service from friendly and helpful staff. Best meals we tried were the fillet steak and grilled prawns which come as part of a special that includes a glass of wine and desert for very reasonable price. A nice feature is a regular guitar soloist playing easy to listen to tunes... More

Just finished our meal at El Pirata. We were a family of five. 3 adults, one 7 year old and one 18 year old. We ordered the grilled garlic shrimp, grilled garlic fish, and fried fish. They were good but nothing special. Also served at table was chips and three sauces. One green sauce with avocado, one pico de gallo,... More

Our group of five attended tonight. We were all looking for something different and we all left very pleased. A great place for the money. The steak was awesome and staff very attentive.

Unlike other restaurants on the town zocalo with ocean breezes, El Pirata is further down Av Rojo Gomez, closer to the condos. However this means that mosquitoes FEAST on exposed ankles and legs during the dinner hour! Our food was just fine, but we had them wrap it up so we could escape the bugs! The waitstaff was friendly and... More

We waited for about an hour and never got the food. They took our order 3 times and the drinks were all messed up. There's an older lady who we thought was the owner or the manager that was rude, didn't care at all. When we told her we'd been waiting for an our already she just replaid or order... More
