Great beer - but food is a bit hit and miss.

Have been coming to Coopers since long before the refurb phase. Enjoyed the old bar, new bar is ok; but has it freed up more space to serve customers - not really. Food is nice, but could be amazing perhaps - just needs a bit more something! The pie for the day option is normally superb, perhaps... read more

I know plenty of people in the area visit here, I unfortunately have found that it has no atmosphere and find the layout impractical. I wouldn't say not to visit, like I say I know plenty of people that enjoy it for a night out. It's just not for me

10 of us visited for Father's Day lunch and we were very impressed with the friendliness, the service and the delicious food. A few of us had the three meat Sunday roast which was heavenly and others varied between the burgers and fish and chips. No-one had any complaints about anything. The restaurant was busy but not crowded as the... More

Children are not allowed in the bar or the restaurant area (though they can eat out the back) - which means there all the more goodies for us grown-ups. Childcare issues mean that we do not make frequent visits but those we do squeeze in are always excellent, as was the case on Saturday night. The food is first-rate and... More

Great choice of real ales complemented by complemented by an excellent choice of food - tasty, well presented portions of the rights size. Good value and warm friendly welcome. Fabulous!

Visit coopers on a regular basis and no matter what day or time it always ticks the right boxes! The decor is lovely and even though it's quite small it's cosy but doesn't feel cramped. The atmosphere is great and is always a great place to visit whether it's to just pop down for a pint or for a nice meal.... Always a fabulous atmosphere in Coopers. A great selection of real ales and ciders, together with good food and the bar is doggie friendly. Can't think of a better way to spend a saturday afternoon! A good restaurant if you want a more formal venue, but best of both worlds with the relaxed bar area.

Once again another very good meal at Coopers and with excellent service. Highly recommended, especially if you want to eat a little later than the norm.

Visited on a Thursday night and it was very busy. A few tables had reserved on but this is to stop people just having a drink from sitting there. Great choice of food including a set menu 3 courses for £14. Food was delicious. We had some nice craft beers also but some of these are expensive! Service a bit... More

It was incredibly busy in the drinking area the 'shape' of the limited 'drinking area' doesn't help , although it quietened down after 10pm. The bar staff were excellent, as was the drinks on offer, and I had a most enjoyable evening. One major plus, NO SCREAMING BRATS!
