A traditional Somerset pub that serves very good food. The fish was especially good and you can see and hear the kitchen. Beautiful setting on a bend of the river Tone and easy to park. Must book even mid week 01984 623293

The food in this quirky place is best described as a taste sensation. The fish soup I had was simply the best soup ive ever had and ive had a few. Would definately recommend booking however.

I had the cheese fondant and pickled beetroot to start and Peter had the heirloom tomato, bocconcini and tapenade salad which he said was the best tomato salad he has ever had, and he has had a few! My cheese fondant was delicious. I had the duck with dauphinoise potatoes. The duck was melt in the mouth and perfectly cooked... More

Well what a surprise this place was! Would never have expected the quality of food and not just one dish but every single thing superbly cooked to perfection. Everyone raving about their meals and I was no exception. Th fish soup was generous and flavoursome and had enough seafood in it to be a main. The venison literally melted in... More

We were staying in another B&B nearby of which the owner recommended the Rock Inn and I am so glad she did. Fabulous ambience great customer service extremely friendly and the food was exceptional. For the chef to be across such a diverse and interesting menu is astonishing. My travel companion who is somewhat of a foodie had the venison... More

We have had dinner here a few times since the new owners arrived, and are delighted with the standard of food and service in this very attractive pub/restaurant. Most evenings there has been a crowd around the bar enjoying a drink and a chat - which is always a good sign. The menu is on a blackboard in the bar... More

Staying nearby at a campsite, booked a table at the local Inn/1395279 , parking is over the road on a bend you have to be careful of. When we arrived there was lovely wood burning fire, there were comfortable bar seats, and although the batman/owner? Was very polite he was hardly over welcoming, we felt he just was "doing his... Had the genuine pleasure of an evening meal at the Rock Inn recently. As it was a Saturday we luckily booked and just as well we did as the pub was quite busy when we arrived and pretty packed by the time we left. Nice friendly polite yet unformal greeting met us from the staff along with a welcoming log... More

If you're a LOTR fan you'll be familiar with the concept of The last homely house. Basically it's the archetypal resting place for weary travellers, where the welcome is warm, the food is great, the company better and the drink ever flowing. In essence the perfect pub we all hope to find just around the next bend. Well the great... More

We ate here four times in our 5 day stay at Waterrow touring camp site. Food was so good we kept going back to try more of the menu. Thoroughly enjoyed everything we tried. Good service too. Home made ice cream also delicious. Didn't try any other desserts which sounded delicious. Nice atmosphere. Couldn't fault food or service.
