Fantastic food and great service

Following a recommendation to visit The Rock Inn we arrived for our booking and had a drink in the bar with the owners who were extremely friendly and welcoming. After having a drink in the bar whilst chatting with Darren and Ruth and hearing about the recent refurbishment (which looks great) we... read more

We took the family there for a meal. When we arrived we were told to 'wait a minute'.....no smile no pleasant welcome just sheer rudeness by an angry looking blond lady. To summarise, the service was poor and the attitude extraordinary (as if they were hard done by). We had to wait an unacceptable time for our meal and although... More

We had guinea fowl and rib of beef for mains, and we both had the white fondant choc. dessert. Excellent food, perfectly cooked and well presented. The Rock, like many pubs in the area, is both a local pub and a restaurant. I would have preferred not to have heard the loud pop music playing on the radio in the... More

This is an establishment purely established to make money.. Visited on Saturday 4th April. They were extremely busy, good for them, coining it in obviously which is why they couldn't be bothered to acknowledge my husband and me.. We stood there like lemons, without so much as a smile greeting or 'be with you in a minute'. So we walked... More

After 3 visits we cannot fault the Rock Inn. The restaurant is in a lovely location with a relaxed country atmosphere. Service is always welcoming and friendly. The chefs sauces are to die for, order anything with a sauce or gravy and you will not be disappointed. We thought our melt in the mouth main courses were fantastic and our... More

Drove through amazingly narrow country lanes to get to the Rock Inn for dinner. Busy with a lively atmosphere and when the home cooked, freshly prepared food arrived it could not be faulted. They do, however, need to ensure their table service gets slicker - rather long wait for the main course and following a request for a dessert the... More

This Pub/Restaurant/B and B serves excellent food in a friendly environment. To my mind the best food in the area.

We returned here after a 6 year gap, having had a memorable meal so long ago. We wanted to see if it was still as good. We were warmly greeted by the newish owners who have been here for two years.. It was a cold wet windy day, but inside the log fire was blazing away. I ordered beef marinated... More

My friend and I were passing and decided to stop in at the Rock Inn. What a gem! We were welcomed by the landlady Ruth and sat in the tastefully decorated restaurant. The atmosphere was so friendly and we ordered the fish chowder soup. It was amazing.....so well presented and filling. Daren who is her husband is the chef and... More

Delicious food and a very pleasant atmosphere. This is food you simply can't cook at home. The vegetarian options are outstanding - I really have no idea how Daren makes a plate of veg so tasty. We have eaten here on several occasions and recommended it to friends and our own B&B guests. They have all rated it very highly... More
