FABULOUS FOOD

This pub is simply one of the best pubs I have eaten in. I had the fish soup which was better than fish soup I have had including in expensive French restaurants. I am really fussy about provenance and was delighted I could choose anything from the menu as it is all free range meat. My husband had... read more

My partner and I visited today (May 31st) for a casual pub lunch with family members. The parking is slightly limited but given the location most people are walking so still space to park. On opening the door you are greeted by a clean and stylish bar and eating area catering for all ages, dogs and children welcome but quiet... More

Had dinner here and absolutely loved it. The fish soup was delicious and the monkfish gougons also. The main courses of short rib of beef and hake were excellent. The upside down cheesecake was sublime. This reall was 'top end' food, presented beautifully.

We took the family there for a meal. When we arrived we were told to 'wait a minute'.....no smile no pleasant welcome just sheer rudeness by an angry looking blond lady. To summarise, the service was poor and the attitude extraordinary (as if they were hard done by). We had to wait an unacceptable time for our meal and although... More

Following a recommendation to visit The Rock Inn we arrived for our booking and had a drink in the bar with the owners who were extremely friendly and welcoming. After having a drink in the bar whilst chatting with Darren and Ruth and hearing about the recent refurbishment (which looks great) we discussed the menu and what specials were on... More

We had guinea fowl and rib of beef for mains, and we both had the white fondant choc. dessert. Excellent food, perfectly cooked and well presented. The Rock, like many pubs in the area, is both a local pub and a restaurant. I would have preferred not to have heard the loud pop music playing on the radio in the... More

This is an establishment purely established to make money.. Visited on Saturday 4th April. They were extremely busy, good for them, coining it in obviously which is why they couldn't be bothered to acknowledge my husband and me.. We stood there like lemons, without so much as a smile greeting or 'be with you in a minute'. So we walked... More

After 3 visits we cannot fault the Rock Inn. The restaurant is in a lovely location with a relaxed country atmosphere. Service is always welcoming and friendly. The chefs sauces are to die for, order anything with a sauce or gravy and you will not be disappointed. We thought our melt in the mouth main courses were fantastic and our... More

Drove through amazingly narrow country lanes to get to the Rock Inn for dinner. Busy with a lively atmosphere and when the home cooked, freshly prepared food arrived it could not be faulted. They do, however, need to ensure their table service gets slicker - rather long wait for the main course and following a request for a dessert the... More

This Pub/Restaurant/B and B serves excellent food in a friendly environment. To my mind the best food in the area.
