Don't judge a book

Don't judge a book by its cover, the pub may be a little basic but more than made up for by the very friendly staff. Food choices slightly limited on the day we visited (lots of things off the menu, but it was a very busy sunny day) but good value and portion size excellent for a hungry diner.

The majority of the menu has a (V) on the board for vegetarian - all of these contain fish!! Since when has fish been vegetarian? Suitable for pescatarians yes but certainly not vegetarian.

We have eaten here before and had to go back for our dinner one eve whilst we stayed in the area. We reserved the table by the window as we love to sit at that spot. We had liver and mash which was yummy. Drinks are a good price and the staff are great. Just simply a lovely place to... More

We did not eat here, although the food looks good. The evening we visited had a Cheese and Wine offer. It was a relaxing place for an evening drink

The George is one of my favourite places to eat, it's based at westbay one of my favourite places and the food is great. I love the cottage pie! And always tend to keep to that as I don't like trying new foods. The food wait can be quite a while if busy. It's sometimes best to book as it... More

We went to the George when visiting West Bay, Dog friendly, child friendly and lovely service. Unfortunately they had stopped serving afternoon food when we arrived (1515 hrs) and weren't opening the kitchen again until 1800 hrs.

A great little pub/restaurant. The meals were fantastic, we opted for the Georgie Porgy pies which were amazing, but other meals we saw being brought out looked fantastic too such as moules marinieres, scampi, sea bass and others. The boss even asked if we wanted to try the different ales before purchasing. So good we returned twice! Will definitely visit... More

Meals were lovely, only problem was it was very busy at night and the only trouble was managing to book a table in the resort.

The service was the worst service i have received in ages! The attitude of the owner and the staff was snobby and disrespectful, when trying to receive information on the menu, i was responded was vague and uninformed. Will NOT be rushing back anytime soon! The food on the other hand was lovely... Up till the point where i found... More
