No idea what the food was like - never got as far as being served !

Who knows what the place is like when you can't even get seated to place your order. Spoke to four different people to try and get seated to order a Sunday roast .. each bounced me to someone else, after 20 minutes, 10 of which were stood at the bar being totally ignored left and got some fish and... read more

Visited on Friday 6th feb for a meal with friends and enjoyed delicious food, great wine and outstanding service! Very happy with my starter or baked Camembert and my main of homemade toad in the hole, my favourite! All washed down with half a bottle of red wine! Excellent service from Anne and Chris! What a dissappointing sunday lunch we went as a family to celebrate my mothers 86th birthday so we were looking forward to having a lovely lunch as we have had in the past but what a dissapointment the carvery my husband and I choose to have was the medium meal at a cost of £8.99 each the size of the... Thank you for your review, however i feel that your husband was on this occasion under some sort of misunderstanding. We sell two different sizes of carvery, a regular at £11.95, and a small at £8.95. We do not sell a medium plate which is where the confusion came in. Your husband presented me with a ticket for a small... More

Eight of us had lunch here after a walk in the area. We were warmly welcomed and found a large table to all sit together. Lots of choice on the menu and reasonable prices. The meals were all thoroughly enjoyed especially the homemade pies. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be visiting again.

It was so nice to visit somewhere that served something other than carvery on Sunday. Actually the carvery looked fantastic, but we were walking the coastpath and wanted something lighter. A prawns, a fishcakes and a lasagne were perfect for us. All served promptly were great.

We visited the George on the 1st January, fortunately we had booked a table , the menu choice is brilliant, my son and his father had the legendary gammon which they said was amazing ,it was huge, they struggled to finish it. My husband had the rump steak which was cooked perfectly and came with homemade onion rings to die... More
