We were a party of five for lunch on Sunday and elected to have the carvery. There are two sizes of meal, and four of us had the smaller and one had the large carvery. The meat choice was good with beef, pork and turkey which was carved onto the plate and we then helped ourselves to the vegetables and... More

This pub was average, The bar member must of been new as he got our drinks order wrong he also didn't seem to want to be there. not very helpful. We were thinking of having something to eat when another family came in and asked for food they were told the restaurant opened again at 5-5.30pm. what a shame they... More

We visited the George for an evening meal and weren't disappointed. The atmosphere was nice with nice decor. The service was good and the staff friendly. The food was lovely with generous portions. It wasn't over priced and is well worth a visit. The pub section could get a it noisy but not too much of a problem.

Enjoyed our dinner on Monday night. There was a lot of choice and the prices are a little high, but the food was very hot, tasty and the right quantity. I had monkfish and salmon skewers in sweet chilli sauce. I'd recommend that. I wish I'd had room for pudding!

Visited West Bay with family - 14 yo and 7 yo and looking for evening meal and regular visitor recommended the George for tea. Menu was vast - actually too many specials on chalk board to choose from. Normal menu sounded pretty good. Bar staff very friendly and helpful (Saturday night and place was busy). I had Steak and kid... More

Went in at 6pm for 4 people. Food arrived 7.10 and was not worth waiting for. Chips tasted of dirty fat. Chicken nuggets full of fat/gristle. Poorly presented. Complaints were taken very defensively. We noticed another table complaining who received an equally rude response. To top it all my husband was up all night with d&v so don't have the... More

We are local, so haven't stayed here, but we have eaten here twice and had a disappointing experience on both occasions! The pub itself is ok for a drink, but we would not recommend eating off their 1980s menu! The food is definitely 'no frills'. Greasy, cold chips, rock hard peas, charred, dry burgers, undercooked, chewy rump steak... and beware... More

Thank you for your review, we always take customer feedback seriously and try to improve ourselves wherever we can. However I do feel I have to point out some facts about your observations. You state that our menu is "1980s". We have a vastly reduced menu during the Summer months to cater for families on holiday in the bay. Our... More
