La Botteguccia--how can one describe such wonderful food and stupendous service with mere words? We chose La Botteguccia based on reviews for restaurants near Foligno that appeared to accommodate a large group such as ours. The map diverted us away from Foligno and into the mountains where more than a few times we considered turning around. Where were we going?!... More

We went with Italian friends to the Botteguccia del Campo in Colfiorito from nearby Spello. We had an incredible variety of great country style dishes. The ingredients , from the lentils, to the beans to the polenta and much much more were not only super fresh but locally grown, The owners Stefano and his lovely wife Annunziata were very hospitable... Thanks for a wonderful experience of local food. A large bus load of guests travelled to your restaurant for lunch, a day after the wedding.Home food that was delicious and a memorable feast. The rustic setting of La Botteguccia was a nice contrast to the formality of the wedding dinner the night before. Thanks

If you're in the area, don't miss the chance to eat here. Home made food, family atmosphere, one of my favorite restaurants in Italy.

We have been coming here for years as we have a home in Umbria. I don't think there is a better place on the planet. I like it so much that when we got married in Umbria this year we took everyone here the following day for lunch. I like the fact that they don't really have a menu and... More

I enjoyed a delicious succession of tastes of local fare at the Osteria, followed up by a light and artfully done asparagus pasta. Elegant and a foody, yet practical and warm, Stefano is superb host. I recommend this place most highly to anyone looking for a delicious, welcoming local experience. Don't be thrown off by the lackluster parking lot--go inside... More

On our way to Le Marche we stopped off at this interesting-looking restaurant for lunch . It was jammed-packed with locals but the wonderful friendly Owners found us some seats and proceeded to spoil us with all sorts of tasty treats from their kitchen . For me the best dish was the gnocchi which was outstanding . The service ,... More

We were travelling to Marche and stumbled across this restaurant. What a treat we were in for. The staff were very welcoming and the food was out of this world. Probably the best value for money we had during our 2 weeks in Italy. Two dishes stood out being the gnocci and the tiramisu. I tried in several other places... More

I went after it was recommended by a local Italian friend from a nearby town, and I certainly appreciated the advice. I went by myself, and when arrived, I was greeted by Stefano, the owner and master mind behind the concept, who immediately made me feel like home, with his friendly way of treating customers. There is no menu, but... More

The Botteguccia is a marvellous experience of organic local ingredients, excellent tastes, a chance to buy the foods you have eaten, and some wonderful wacky humour that goes with the whole experience. If you want white tablecloths and a menu with wide choice and standard dishes, stay away. But if you are up for that extraordinary combination of traditional foods... More
