We have heard many good things about this restaurant but until last night, hadn't sampled its delights. It certainly exceeded all our expectations. A thoroughly brilliant evening with utterly delicious food. I don't think we have had such a wonderful meal in simply ages. Among some of the things we ate were crispy squid, slow cooked brisket, pheasant and absolutely... More

Our party of 4 was very impressed by the quality of the food and service. I had fly caught salmon it was the best meal I had during that last visit to the area.

Visited this place a second time today. The inventiveness of the menu and the quality of the food was fantastic - again. I had wonderfully cooked seabass with gingered squash, sweetcorn frittata, and a coconut and macadamia nut sambal. Amazing. My wife had goat - for the first time in her life - and that was amazing too.

This has been on my list of places to try for some time, and I must say it was well worth the wait. The place itself is quite compact but comfortable inside, with rustic dining tables and chairs reflecting the spirit of the old pub (I've fond memories of drinking here some years ago). The menu is varied, with a... More

We were recommended to come here - it was full, so it clearly suits some people. Dining out is partly about food, but also about the experience. The food encompasses a variety of less common dishes, successfully prepared, but 'nouvelle cuisine' in quantity and ''pretty-pretty' in presentation. Serving on slate, and bread boards is distinctly 1990's. Value for money in... More

I have dined at the Richmond Arms several times since it reopened as an upmarket bistro pub. In fact it is really a restaurant with a bar. The food is superb - all locally sourced and very simply prepared. Big steaks, local game, very fresh fish, etc. If they do specialise in anything it is very slow roast dishes -... More

We took the family there, aged 10 to 72, and everyone loved it. The menu is unusual, and the food quality outstanding. The kids loved the ice creams, and also the steaks ! The Londoners were suitably impressed. Very good service, relaxed friendly atmosphere. We are lucky to live a fairly short walk away, and it's a great place to... More

This place is really very good. The food particularly so with a great range of options including vegetarian. Reasonably priced food and drink. The atmosphere is pleasant too. If you want refined pub food in a nice setting this is one to hunt out.

Good weather helps, of course, so it was a bonus to be able to sit in warm sunshine outside The Richmond Arms on a great October Sunday with a perfectly chilled Loire Sauvignon Blanc and time to peruse the rather quirky lunch menu. Lots on offer made for difficult choices, but once settled we were ushered inside to our window... More

Last Saturday was our first wedding anniversary and I couldn't think of a better place to celebrate our special day. The place was really buzzing when we arrived. We were a little early and so sat at the bar to enjoy our aperitifs which were an excellent start to a brilliant evening. We were offered a number of different gins... More
