We stopped for an ice-cream and drinks whilst waiting for a 5 person electric boat. Good menu and friendly service. They hire the boats from 1/2 hour at 18E to 5 hours at 67E - well worth it when you are with kids. They is a shop selling local wines round the corner and recommend the rose.

After having some delicious tapas and white wine at the restaurant next door, we went to have the supposedly wonderful ice cream next door for desert. It was 7.30 pm, Sunday evening. We were informed that the tables are reserved for dinner service and we could not have their icecream there. On looking around, there were about 20 unoccupied tables... More

Our party was on a canal boat and we stopped for lunch. A local artist, asked for his recommendation for good, locally sourced food pointed us here. And so it proved: nothing fancy but all cooked well and served cheerfully. Bill was €125 for 6 including carafe wine and coffee. Good value, on a route where this is not universal.... More

The meal was superb, the perfect flavors match. Very clean and beautiful terrace. The ice cream is one of the best of the zone, many original flavors. The people is very kind.

We had a drink here on the pleasant canalside terrace, and later went back for an excellent locally-sourced dinner with local wine. Good value, good atmosphere in this family restaurant.

Enjoyed our evening meal here. We dined indoors, the weather too wet and cold for al fresco dining. The food was nice and the service was relaxed but pleasant and timely. We have no complaints.

Clearly advantaged by its position directly on the canal, we found this friendly little place very good for simple delicious food not overwhelmed by thick sauces. Good value too.

Prime spot on the canal overlooking the barges and the very forward but wonderful ducks and geese on the canal! We enjoyed the fillet of duck for lunch and it was simply superb! For dinner we opted for the salad as we had enjoyed a heavier lunch and what a treat that was too. I can honestly say this was... More

La Somail is a 'must' place to lunch or overnight if you are on the Canal du Midi. We were doing 3 days biking from there(E,W and S on the Robine). We chose Le Comptoir for its cosy atmosphere and we're not disappointed. The waiter was very attentive and the food was served at a relaxed pace. Eating out in... More

Just what we wanted after a long day playing bumper boats (accidentally) in the canal de midi. There were 6 of us and we all opted for the set menu as this offered a good variety and seemed to provide excellent value. None of us were disappointed with the quality of cooking or the flavour combinations.we couldn't single out anything... More
