Good but not outstanding

We chose this restaurant by the canal du midi for dinner as a change from town centre eateries, the location was lovely by the canal and watching the boats passing and ducklings playing. The food was ok, I have certainly had better, meat was very undercooked, my fault for not checking, but I wasn't... read more

We had a terrific evening, starting with a tour on the canal with a small electric boat we rented there. Food was excellent, fresh, family style. Service was very friendly and we enjoyed listening to the Jazz band Aleberic that played that night. Jazz Concert every wednesday during summer, popular French songs every Friday.

We stayed at a gite in Le Somail and eat at this restaurant a few times, both lunch and dinner. Great inventive and different food (NO CHIPS), friendly service and dog friendly. Well deserves it's Trip Advisor rating. Enjoy!!!

Stop here if you are travelling along the Canal du Midi and you won't be disappointed. Lovely lunch by the Canal.

This used to be the best in Le Somail, salads which were truly excellent now seem to have a high level of iceberg lettuce. Ice cream still good for kids and for some reason food is better at lunch than in the evening. This is hugely popular and my fear is they have become a little complacent.

We hired some electric boats from here to do some pirating up the canal. Cheap as chips to rent and great fun for the kids. After collecting much booty on the water we returned to the port to refuel. This place does an amazing burger so don't miss out. The staff were very attentive and family friendly.

We stopped for an ice-cream and drinks whilst waiting for a 5 person electric boat. Good menu and friendly service. They hire the boats from 1/2 hour at 18E to 5 hours at 67E - well worth it when you are with kids. They is a shop selling local wines round the corner and recommend the rose.

After having some delicious tapas and white wine at the restaurant next door, we went to have the supposedly wonderful ice cream next door for desert. It was 7.30 pm, Sunday evening. We were informed that the tables are reserved for dinner service and we could not have their icecream there. On looking around, there were about 20 unoccupied tables... More

Our party was on a canal boat and we stopped for lunch. A local artist, asked for his recommendation for good, locally sourced food pointed us here. And so it proved: nothing fancy but all cooked well and served cheerfully. Bill was €125 for 6 including carafe wine and coffee. Good value, on a route where this is not universal.... More
